Pokemon Unite launching on iPhone and iPad in September

According to the announcement on the Pokemon website, the Nintendo Switch will get the title first in July 2021 while the mobile port will be available to download starting in September. The mobile version will be available for Apple’s iOS and iPadOS platforms and Google’s Android.

The game will launch in French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Players get to choose between 19 Pokemon, with two teams of five Pokemon each duking it out in a total of five battle classes to compete for points. Any collected points must be deposited in a goal zone as soon as possible before other players take them away from you.

Temporary extra powers are available to you during battles.

The announcement acknowledges that cross-platform play between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices is in the works, but it doesn’t sound like it will be ready for prime time at launch.

Your game data, however, will be available across all devices as long as the player is logged in with their Nintendo Account or Pokemon Trainer Club account. “With this feature, you’ll be able to enjoy playing at home on your TV screen using the Nintendo Switch version, as well as easily play on the go using the mobile version,” reads the post.
