Taurine jailbreak updated to version 1.0.5 with new features, bug fixes, and improvements

With a steady stream of jailbreak news and releases lately, it’s not overly surprising that we’re seeing an update for a popular jailbreak tool this afternoon.

The Odyssey Team published a fresh update for its iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3-centric Taurine jailbreak, this time bringing it up to version 1.0.5 to address bugs and improve performance of the jailbreak overall.

As usual, the Odyssey Team announced the newest version of its Taurine jailbreak via the official @OdysseyTeam_ Twitter page and the Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord channel:

Citing the official change log, Taurine v1.0.5 brings the following changes:

Changes:

  • Applies a fix for amfid panics so that it should happen less often
  • BSODs dump info about the BSOD to /.last_bsod
  • Creating /.verbose_bsod will show a verbose BSOD instead
  • SpringBoard alert when tweaks are disabled (either in case of a BSOD or when they’re disabled manually)

If you’re an existing Taurine jailbreak user, then we recommend downloading and installing the latest version of the tool to ensure that you’re taking full advantage of all the latest improvements.

Users ultimately have two choices when installing Taurine updates: 1) Use the Jailbreak Updater extension to upgrade OTA; or 2) side-load and deploy the latest version of the Taurine jailbreak app via AltStore.

The first method is easier when you’re without a computer, but we still recommend updating the jailbreak app via a computer at your earliest convenience just in case you ever need to reboot and re-run the jailbreak for any reason. This is because Jailbreak Updater patches your existing  jailbreak with the necessary fixes, but it doesn’t update the physical jailbreak app as side-loading the latest version would.

If you haven’t jailbroken with Taurine before and you’d like to learn how, then allow us to point you to our detailed step-by-step tutorial where we show you the entire process via AltStore. The tool itself is available from the taurine.dev web page.
