This tweak removes the Shorts button from the YouTube app’s Tab Bar

One of the newer features that YouTube appears to be putting a lot of excessive emphasis on lately are what the video streaming platform likes to call “Shorts.”

Shorts are effectively time-limited video clips that content creators or YouTube hobbyists can share with their followers, and they appear to be gaining traction.

YouTube doesn’t give users a way to opt out to seeing Shorts in their feed, and so if you don’t like them, then you might see them as useless. That’s where a new and free jailbreak tweak called YTNoShortsButton by iOS developer Galactic Dev might come in handy.

So assuming you’re the type of person who wishes that YouTube’s Shorts would just go away, YTNoShortsButton can offer at least a little bit of refuge.

While the tweak won’t stop Shorts from materializing in your YouTube feed, it will hide the dedicated Shorts tab from the Tab Bar at the bottom of the YouTube app. The result is a cleaner interface and lessened chance that you’ll tap on an interface you’d probably never use otherwise.

YTNoShortsButton doesn’t have any options to configure and is available for free from iCraze’s repository via any package manager of your choosing. The tweak supports all jailbroken devices that can run the latest version of the YouTube app (version 16.19.6 at the time of this writing).

Anyone who isn’t already using Galactic Dev’s personal repository can add it to their preferred package manager by using the following URL:
