The Epic vs. Apple case has revealed that a touch-optimized version of Fortnite would return to Apple’s platforms in October as a new release on the game streaming service GeForce Now.

Fortnite may return to iOS in October
Although no official announcement has been made, Nvidia’s Aashish Patel said during cross-examination at the Epic Games vs. Apple trial that a touch-optimized version of the popular game would launch in October on the GeForce Now platform.

Alongside the amazing team at Epic Games, we’re working to enable a touch-friendly version of Fortnite, which will delay availability of the game. While the GeForce Now library is best experienced on mobile with a gamepad, touch is how over 100 million Fortnite gamers have built, battled and danced their way to Victory Royale.

We’re looking forward to delivering a cloud-streaming Fortnite mobile experience powered by GeForce Now. Members can look for the game on iOS Safari in the near future.
Keep in mind that he mentioned October as a “potential” release date for the title, meaning delays and last-minute changes in plans are possible. Fortnite, of course, remains banned from the App Store and is unlikely to return anytime soon, at least not until Epic and Apple resolve their differences in terms of doing business on the App Store and Apple platforms.
Thankfully, GeForce Now has been available on the iOS platform since November 2020 as a web-based client in Safari. In other words, Nvidia’s gaming-streaming service could easily become the only way for iPhone and iPad owners to access the game.
