Simon Kinberg’s new spy romance film starring Idris Elba is heading to Apple TV+

If you have been wanting more Idris Elba on your TV (or other devices with screens), then get ready for a new spy film set to arrive on Apple TV+.

Variety has the report for us on Friday, detailing a new film described as a “spy romance” flick set to star Idris Elba (Luther) will arrive on Apple’s streaming service at some point in the near future. As with most projects these days, especially in light of the ongoing pandemic, there was an “intense bidding war” for the film, and Apple won out. Just how much Apple spent for the project, though, remains unknown.

The film doesn’t even have a title yet.

Kinberg, along with Audrey Chon (all three are pictured at the top of this article), will produce. Elba, along with starring in the film, will also be a producer. The only description for the film tells us it’s “a spy movie with romance”, so there isn’t a lot to work with there. However, with Elba in the leading role it should be worth checking out whenever it arrives on Apple’s streaming service.

Earlier this year we reported that Elba, along with his Green Door Pictures production company, had signed a major first-look deal with Apple. Kinberg also has a deal with Apple to bring content to Apple TV+, and the writer/director is bringing a high-profile and large budget sci-fi series to the streaming service at some point in the future.

As soon as we know more about whatever this “spy movie with romance” is, including a title, we’ll let you know.
