It was just a few months back that we showed you a particularly interesting jailbreak tweak called Carbonite by iOS developer Antique that could be used to enrich iOS’ typically boring Reachability interface with a useful suite of shortcuts and controls. It was pretty slick right out of the box, but with the help of add-ons, it could be made even slicker.
Fast-forward to now, and Antique has officially released a new extension for Carbonite dubbed WeatherModule. Just as its name implies, WeatherModule brings local weather information to the Reachability interface via Carbonite for fast and easy reference at your leisure.
As shown in the screenshot example above, WeatherModule incorporates the following information into the widget:
- Current weather conditions
- Your current location
- Sunset and sunrise times
- Current temperature
- Maximum temperature
- Minimum temperature
- Wind speed
- And more…
WeatherModule integrates with the existing Carbonite shortcuts and controls, which means that you won’t have to choose between using one or the other. It’s a particularly nice setup because iOS’ Reachability interface usually introduces a whole bunch of wasted empty space, and this two-tweak combo helps to rectify that situation.
At the time of this writing, Carbonite only supports metric measurements, but an update is being planned that will add supports for other measurements in the future.
If you’re interested in trying WeatherModule, then you can purchase it for $0.99 from the Twickd repository via your preferred package manager. They weak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices, and you’ll also need to own Carbonite already, which will be an additional $1.29 purchase if you don’t already have it.
