Another concept images Apple Watch complications on iOS 14 Home screen

Following rumors that Apple may be developing real, customizable widgets for the first time in iOS 14, we showed you gorgeous conceptual renderings, created by Parker Ortolani, which imagine how these widgets might look and work on the Home screen. Here’s another concept that imagines bringing Apple Watch  complications from watchOS to the iPhone and iPad.

Created by French blog, the concept envisions complications on the Home screen of the iPhone and iPad, no jailbreak required. As seen top of post and below, the concept was inspired by watchOS complications found on the Apple Watch.

On the Apple wearable, complications are snippets of information from apps that can be customized and placed in predetermined slots on some watch faces that support them. watchOS includes built-in complications that display battery life, the date and more.

For those wondering, in watchmaking and horology a complication refers to any feature in a mechanical timepiece beyond the display of hours, minutes and seconds, such as alarms, stopwatches, indicators for the current date or day of the week and more.

I like this idea, I like it a lot.

If Apple is indeed going to provide real widgets on iOS 14 that could be moved around just like any app icon, as rumored, then it would make perfect sense to also bring complications to the iPhone and iPad. And although I’m not convinced that complications would be useful on the Home screen due to potential clutter, they’d look great on the Lock screen.
