Give iMessage bubbles a custom color gradient with this tweak

One of the best parts of owning a pwned iPhone is having the ability to colorize the native iOS interface however you want, as doing so can help make your handset stand out from the crowd of monotony.

That said, if you’re interested in adding a fresh coat of paint to the native Messages app, then you might take a liking to a new and free jailbreak tweak called iMessageGradients by iOS developer Cole Cabral.

You can see exactly how iMessageGradients works in the screenshot examples above. Upon selecting two different colors to use for your gradient, the tweak automatically spans those colors across the entire height of the display (not just on a per-bubble basis).

Once installed, iMessageGradients puts a preference pane in the Settings app where you can choose your preferred colors:

Here, you can choose the first and second colors, which will be combined to create the gradient. The tweak uses a color picker to let you choose your colors, which effectively grants users with a near-infinite choice of colors as opposed to a pre-defined color list.

While subtle, iMessageGradients is a fine way to add a fresh splash of color to iOS, and since most people use the Messages app every single day, it’s something you’ll get to appreciate more than once. The tweak is available as a free download from the Packix repository in any package manager of your choosing and supports all jailbroken iOS 10, 11, 12, and 13 devices.
