Back at the beginning of September, Apple officially unveiled the new, 7th-generation iPad with a 10.2-inch Retina display.
As such, new accessories are starting to pop up for the newest tablet family member. We’ve put together a list of the best folio cases you can buy right now for the new 10.2-inch iPad.

This folio case from ZtotopCase is constructed from a premium synthetic PU leather on the outside, but has the soft microfiber in the interior of the case to help add some more protection for the new 7th-generation iPad. This case also offers corner protection, along with keeping the front and back of the iPad safe.
There is a built-in leather hand strap for carrying, and there is a pocket on the front that can hold various items like a few different ID-sized cards. There is a dedicated loop to hold the Apple Pencil as well.
There are a couple of stand slots for two viewing angles, and the case also features a magnetic closure for automatic Wake/Sleep functionality when the case is opened/closed.
There are three colors to choose from: Brown, Black, and DenimBlack. The ZtotopCase is available now.
ESR
The Yippee Trifold folio case from ESR offers up a couple of different angles to position the 7th-generation iPad, while offering up plenty of protection when the case is closed. It’s manufactured from a faux leather material on the outside, with a durable, non-deforming cover to protect the device. Inside, the case offers a “super-soft” microfiber surface, and the back cover is scratch-resistant.
The case is precision-built to perfectly fit the new 10.2-inch iPad, with precise cutouts, open port access, and “easy press buttons”. It offers the automatic Wake/Sleep functionality when you open/close the case, and offers two distinct angles: a 65-degree viewing stand and a 30-degree typing stand.
ESR is proud of its magnets, saying that they will last up to 12 months with constant use of opening and closing the case.

Apple
Apple’s folio Smart Cover for the 7th-generation iPad is constructed from a single piece of polyurethane, and, when closed, will protect the front of the tablet. It features the automatic Wake/Sleep functionality that most cases do, so the tablet will snap-to or go to sleep if you open or close it, respectively.
The Smart Cover offers two distinct viewing options, which can make either viewing content, making FaceTime calls, or typing easy and comfortable. It snaps into place on the side of the iPad quickly, too.
There are several different colors to choose from: Alaskan Blue, Cornflower, Papaya, Charcoal Gray, Pink Sand, and White. The Smart Cover for the 7th-generation iPad is available now from Apple.
ProCase
This ProCase Protective Cover for the 7th-generation iPad offers a folio design with protection in mind. The outside of the case features a faux premium leather finish, while the inside has a TPU inner case to add bonus protection. The elastic strap will hold the case either open or closed, depending on what you want.
The case doesn’t block access to the Lightning port or buttons, and it has a dedicated holder for the Apple Pencil as well. It has three viewing angles, and supports the automatic Wake/Sleep functionality. There is also a dedicated pocket on the front that can hold thin items like ID-sized cards or some cash.

This folio case for the new 7th-generation 10.2-inch iPad is built with full-body protection in mind. It has corner protection, while also protecting the sides and edges of the tablet, and the back as well. The interior pocket makes it easy to install the case, and it has a microfiber interior to help keep the device scratch-free while the case is equipped.
The case’s exterior is designed from premium synthetic leather. The stylus loop will keep the Apple Pencil in place when not in use, and the folio case offers two distinct viewing angles.
This folio case also offers support for the auto wake/sleep functionality when the case is opened or closed, respectively.

DTTO
This folio case from DTTO is designed from premium synthetic leather as well, and there is a microfiber lining on the inside of the case as well to help keep the iPad safe during daily use. It has a non-slip and non-drip design thanks to the soft leather.
It has a magnetic Smart Cover, which means it will automatically wake and sleep.
There is a built-in hand strap that should make carrying around the iPad while it’s in the case even easier. It has two different viewing angles as well, and DTTO didn’t design this case to feature a dedicated Apple Pencil holder.
The folio case from DTTO will go on sale at Amazon beginning Tuesday, October 8. It will only be available in one color.
