You can now add AppleCare+ to AirPods and Beats for $29

In addition to its slew of other releases, Apple on Tuesday opened up its AppleCare+ support service to its line of headphones. Starting today, you can added AppleCare+ to any pair of AirPods or Beats headphones for just $29.

So what do you get for $29? Well obviously every pair of AirPods and Beats headphones comes with a 1-year warranty of hardware repair coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary support. AppleCare+ extends your coverage to two years from your AC+ purchase date and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage—subject to a service fee of $29. The headphones themselves, the battery and the charging cable are all covered, and you also get 24/7 priority access to Apple’s experts via chat or phone.

Now as someone who is currently faced with malfunctioning AirPods, some 6 months out of the original 1-year warranty, I’d say this sounds like a great deal. If you’re interested, you can add it to your Apple headphone purchases starting today.
