iRobot Roomba 980 robot vacuum

The iRobot Roomba 980 is designed for the homes that have pets in them. It features a 3 stage Cleaning System, which means it will pick up the dirt and pet hair that you can see with your eyes, but also cleans up the dust and allergens as well.

The Roomba 980 also features iRobot’s Dirt Detect Technology, a specific sweeping brush for edges around the home, and app support so you can see when a room is clean. It works on carpets and hard flooring as well.

The Roomba 980 can run on a single charge for 120 minutes. After that, it will automatically recharge and then go about doing its business. And it also works with Amazon’s digital assistant Alexa for voice controls.

eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S

eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S

This robot vacuum is a great starter option. It has suction power up to 1300Pa, and can automatically alter its suction power within 1.5 seconds when needed, based on the level of clean required. On hardwood floors the BoostIq RoboVac 11S can clean for 100 minutes consistently.

As is par for the course for most robot vacuums, the BoostIQ features IR sensors for avoiding obstacles, and has drop-sensing technology to avoid any potential falls.

There’s no mention of app support and it doesn’t support voice controls. But if you’re looking to not spend a ton of money on your first robot vacuum, or even another one for a different section of the home, this is a good option.

You can get Rudy’s BoostIQ RoboVac 11S for $229.99 in white or black from Amazon.

Neato Robotics D6

Neato Robotics D6

This robot vacuum is equipped with lasers, which makes it a powerhouse for avoiding obstacles. The main brush features an 11-inch spiral combo brush, which Neato says can work even with pet hair as well.

It’s the lasers that really make the Robotics D6 shine, though. Not only can the vacuum see in the dark, the lasers also make it possible for the device to clean in straight lines.

Beyond that, the Neato Robotics D6 also features app support, which allows the owner to set up no-go sections of their house. The app will also make it possible to set floor plans for multiple levels of the same house. The Neato-branded robot vacuum features voice support with Amazon Alexa, and can run on a single charge for 120 minutes.

The Neato Robotics D6 is available for $699.99.

iRobot Roomba i7+

iRobot Roomba i7+

This is the best overall choice and a nice way to end the list. This robot vacuum supports 10X the air power for cleaning suction, and it boasts the 3 stage cleaning system as well. It’s a great choice for pet hair as well.

The Roomba i7+ is equipped with iRobot’s iAdapt 3.0 navigation system, vSLAM. This will allow the device to quickly and deftly navigate a level of your home without issue and avoid obstacles along the way. The robot vacuum can also learn your home the more it’s used with Imprint Smart Mapping.

The built-in high efficiency filter traps up to 99 percent of cat and dog allergens as well. The dual multi surface rubber brushes will adjust accordingly when the vacuum transitions from carpet to hard wood floors and vice versa.

The best feature of all, though, is the fact that this robotic vacuum has a self-emptying feature. It will automatically go back to its base station and empty out the contents of its last adventure so you don’t have to worry about emptying the vacuum itself. The container can hold up to 30 bins of dirt, hair, and dust.

Finally, the Roomba i7+ supports voice controls with Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant, and it has app support as well.

You can pick up the iRobot Roomba i7+ for $948.75 at the time of publication. It usually retails for $1,099.00.
