Add an application drawer to your jailbroken iPhone with Vesta

If you’ve ever used an Android handset before, then you might be familiar with the App Drawer where you can access any of your installed apps from one place. iOS has never sported an App Drawer-like feature out of the box, and this prompted iOS developer SparkDev to create a new jailbreak tweak called Vesta to bring one to the iOS platform.

Vesta is easily invoked with any of the built-in gestures or with Activator, and as depicted in the screenshot examples above, the Vesta interface is divided into two sections – one that displays some of your recently-used apps, and another that displays all your handset’s installed apps in one convenient place with no Home screen pages or folders to get in your way.

Also take note of the beautiful background blur that helps your app icons stand apart from whatever background that might be lurking underneath Vesta.

Once installed, Vesta adds a preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure it to your liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Vesta on or off on demand
  • Configure the Vesta invoking gesture when inside of an app
  • Turn on the swipe up from Dock gesture
  • Hide or show application icon labels in the Vesta interface

If you’re using Activator, then you can invoke Vesta from anywhere on your device. The native gestures are limited to the Dock on the Home screen and from certain parts of the display when in an app. For that reason, we recommend setting up an Activator gesture, especially since you most likely have Activator installed as a dependency already. If not, then it’s a free download…

We particularly like that Vesta acts as a one-stop-shop for recently-used apps and for all the other apps installed on your device. We’re also happy to inform you that a future update will soon add the ability to blacklist certain apps from appearing the Vesta interface, but this feature isn’t yet applicable at this time.

Vesta is only available to members of SparkDev’s Patreon program at the time of this writing, but that’s expected to change as the tweak comes out of beta. If you’re a member and would like to give the tweak a try, then you can download it from SparkDev’s beta repository. Vesta supports all jailbroken iOS 9 through 12 devices.
