Apple says total Mac active base has hit an impressive 100 million units

Apple announced at today’s media event in Brooklyn, New York City that its installed base of Mac computers has reached a new milestone by hitting a hundred million active units.

Apple CEO Tim Cook made this announcement during the October 2018 even keynote, setting the stage for a new Retina-outfitted MacBook Air introduction.

At any rate, we didn’t want this milestone to pass without making a mention.

Even though Apple does not sell the most computers, having a hundred million Macs out there that are being used actively (meaning they access Mac App Store because that’s how Apple counts active devices) is good for the community, developers and users alike.
