Elgato announces new Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock

Elgato adds a new product to their Thunderbolt lineup with the Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock. This miniaturized dock gives you access to DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3, and Gigabit ethernet ports in a compact size.

This travel sized box has a built in Thunderbolt 3 cable so you don’t have to worry about bringing one along. Thunderbolt also allows up to 40Gb/s throughput, which means you can use all ports and not lose a lick of speed.

“Thunderbolt 3 is the only standard that offers full performance and stability when simultaneously running 4K video and high bandwidth data signals over a single port,” said Markus Fest, General Manager, Elgato Systems. “With Elgato Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock, building sure-fire setups becomes possible whenever and wherever you work.”

We reviewed their full sized Thunderbolt 3 dock a while back, and overall were happy with the unique design, though it lacked ports compared to others.

If you’re however looking for a more portable solution, without compromising speed, the Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock looks to be a solid choice.

It will be available in spring of 2018, with pricing available soon.
