Snapchat today issued a small update to its iPhone application, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store. The app’s version number has been bumped to 9.43.0.0 as the latest update enables two new gestures for easier sharing of content and navigating your Stories and the Discover tab. As a bonus, Snapchat fans now have an easier way to use Lenses.

For the Stories and Discover features, you can now tap and hold on a Snap to quickly send it to a friend or tap the left side of the screen to go back.

As for the popular Lenses, which are basically real-time camera effects, release notes mention that the new version let you tap on your face while video chatting in order to use Lenses. Plus, you can now tap whilst using your back-facing iSight camera to try World Lenses.

Snapchat’s previous update reverted to the old way of advancing to the next Story.

No longer does the app automatically load the next Story.

Like before, you must now tap on a Story to view it.

Grab Snapchat at no charge from the App Store.
