Apple’s Developer Center portal has received a facelift last evening with reports of much revamped account pages. The redesigned account section on Dev Center has at last adopted a more user friendly two-column layout, with links to the most important account-related sections now conveniently provided in the lefthand column.
The navigation column is divided in two sections: Program Resources and Additional Resources. In your Program Resources, you’ll find such sections as Overview, Membership, iTunes Connect, CloudKit Dashboard, Code-Level Support and Certificates, IDs & Profiles.
Additional Resources include links to the Documentation, Forums, Bug Reporter and News & Updates sections. These sections were previously lumped in the now defunct Member Center section.
As you can see for yourself, the new-look interface is a lot cleaner and easier on the eyes than the one it replaces. The two-column layout makes for a much easier navigation and a more logical structure of the many developer resources Apple provides.
Clicking any link in the lefthand column loads a redesigned version of that particular resource in the other column. At the time of this writing, clicking the Certificates, IDs & Profiles link loaded the old-look interface for managing developer certificates.
It’s unclear if this new look will be deployed across other Dev Center sections: I’d say it’s only a matter of time given that last December saw the arrival of a thoroughly refreshed and redesigned Apple ID website.
