A final farewell from Jeff

Jeff

Ladies and gentlemen…Today I say goodbye to a place I have called my online home for quite a few years. It’s a bittersweet day. I’m moving on to another adventure, but I will always have fond memories of my time at iDB…

I’ve been writing online and in print since the mid-90’s, but thanks to iDB, I was really able to push the bounds of my creativity. A little over five years ago, I decided to “make a video demonstration” of a jailbreak tweak. It was extremely rudimentary, but from that point forward, things were different.

Of course, these days, video is pretty much a prerequisite to any online destination, but I’d like to think that we helped play at least a small role in pushing the envelope in that regard.

I’m not going to be overly dramatic with this goodbye. Instead, I’d like to say a few words, and a few thanks. Oh, and predictably, there’s a video as well…

First of all, I’d like to thank all of you for watching, reading, and listening over the years. As I stated on my final podcast, we’ve output a ton of content during my tenure at iDB. I’ve personally published over 2,500 videos, over 300 podcasts, nearly 4,000 blog posts, and a couple of books for good measure.

The numbers are measurable, but they mean little to me compared to the great interactions I’ve been able to share with readers. You guys make what we do possible, and we truly appreciate that. Sometimes we may get frustrated, or sound irritated in a post or on a video or podcast, but never forget that we love what we do, and it’s thanks to you that this is possible. Seriously, thank you!

I’d also like to thank the folks at iDB, past and present. People like Cody, Chris, Timothy, Jim, Anthony and various others over the years. This team has always been so fun to work with, which is a testament to its owner, Sebastien Page. Thanks, Sebastien, for giving me the opportunity to do something cool.

Andrew O’Hara has come on board to take over the reigns of the YouTube channel. He’s got lots of experience making videos, so rest assured that the channel will keep on chugging along like it has for the last 5 years.

I look forward to reading and watching all of the great content that will inevitably come from the pages of this blog.

It’s been fun. It’s been really fun.
