Learn how to turn off Siri-suggested events in Apple Mail and Calendar apps on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to remove unwanted entries from your schedule.
When you receive an email with a date and time in the message body, Apple Mail displays a “Siri Found an Event” banner. Tapping it lets you add an event, such as a dinner reservation or flight details, to the Calendar app.
These events also appear in the Calendar app’s Siri Suggestions list (more on it below). Event suggestions are turned on by default in all versions of iOS, iPadOS and macOS, but you can toggle them off if you don’t find them helpful.
Disable Siri event suggestions in the Mail app
You’ll need to turn off event suggestions separately for each device.
iPhone or iPad
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Tap Siri or Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Scroll down and tap App Access or Apps.
- Select Mail from the list of applications.
- Turn off the Show in App switch. And Siri will no longer disrupt your flow by displaying event suggestions in the Mail and Calendar apps. To resume event suggestions in Mail, toggle this option again.
Mac
- Open System Settings on your Mac running the latest version of macOS, like macOS 27 Golden Gate.
- Select Siri in the sidebar.
- Click App Access.
- Select Mail from the list of applications.
- Turn off Show in App.
If your Mac is on a previous version of macOS:
- Go to System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Click the “About Siri, Dictation & Privacy” button.
- Select Mail, turn off the switch labeled “Show Siri Suggestions in application,” and click Done.
Disable Siri Suggestions in the Calendar app
Aside from Mail, event suggestions also appear in the built-in Siri Suggestions calendar in the Calendar app. From there, you can add a suggestion to your calendar as a new event. You can turn off the Siri Suggestions calendar if you don’t find event recommendations useful.
iPhone or iPad
- Open the Calendar app and tap the calendar icon or the word Calendars at the bottom.
- Untick the Siri Suggestions options. And tap Done if you see it.
To stop Siri from offering event suggestions in the Calendar app:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Siri or Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Tap App Access or Apps.
- Select Calendar.
- Turn off Show in App to hide the Siri Suggestion calendar in the Calendar app.
Mac
To remove Siri-suggested events from the Calendar app on your Mac, click the tiny calendar icon in the top-left corner and untick the box for Siri Suggestions.
You can also turn off Siri Suggestions entirely in System Settings, as shown in the Mail app section above.
