Theme Thursday: Gleam, Axle and Simplump

Theme Thursday 11

Theme Thursday is back for the eleventh consecutive week, continuing to promote some of the best Winterboard theme releases for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This week, we are proud to present you with Gleam, Axle and Simplump.

Each theme is quite different from the next, which should provide everyone with something to choose from. If there is nothing you see here that you like, consider checking out previous editions of this roundup. We’ve covered almost 50 themes to date. Here are three more…

Gleam

Gleam Theme

Following nearly one month of beta testing, and several obstacles, Gleam has made its highly-anticipated release on Cydia. The theme features a vibrant color scheme, over 400 custom icons with smoother edges, a custom status bar user interface, ClassicDock skin, wallpaper pack and more.

The screenshots above show two different potential setups for this theme, courtesy of Reddit users austinkelsall and level9leven. Gleam is available now on Cydia in the MacCiti repo for an introductory price of $1.00. The price will be increased to $1.99 at an undisclosed date. The theme is compatible with all iPhones and iPads running iOS 7.

Axle

Axle Theme

Theme Thursday mainly promotes themes that are already available on Cydia, but this column is also useful for sharing some of the best upcoming releases within the theming community. Axle will surely be an instant candidate for the best Winterboard releases available to date, with over 150 glossy icons and much more.

The theme supports a number of jailbreak tweaks, including ClassicLockscreen, ClassicDock, CustomCover, JellyLock, Calculator, IconOmatic, Auxo 2, MiniPlayer, app badges and more. Axle, designed by VedantVida, has been submitted to Cydia with a $2.99 price tag. It should be available in a few days for iPhone and iPod touch. The iPad will not be compatible for now.

Simplump

Simplump

Simplump was the leading theme recommended by readers in last week’s edition of this theme roundup, and so we’ll feature it as such. The theme, as you would expect from its name, is essentially just a minimalistic custom icon set for Retina display devices. It isn’t exactly my cup of tea, and it has a design that is very similar to dozens of other iOS 7 themes, but it is still another worthwhile option for those that wish to use it. Simplump is available now on the Cydia Store. iPad support is included.

The success of this column is largely attributed to the community involvement that surrounds it. Thanks to the readers that are continuously making theme recommendations in the comments, something that I encourage everyone to participate with. If you have designed a theme yourself, and would like for it to be featured in this weekly roundup, please connect with me on Twitter (@rsgnl) with further details. If it is a paid theme, please ensure that you gift it to Cydia ID 6107077 for consideration.
