ColorfulVolume: add color to the volume HUD on iOS 7.1.x

ColorfulVolume is a brand new iOS 7 jailbreak tweak that allows you to change the color of your volume heads up display (HUD). It also lets you add a custom title near the top of the volume HUD and set it to change to a random color with each invocation.

For those of you interested in having fine-grained access to the exact color that appears for the volume HUD, you'll be happy to know that ColorfulVolume includes individual RGB sliders for granular color adjustments. Have a look at our video walkthrough of ColorfulVolume after the jump.

How to get iOS 8 style quick reply on iOS 7

If someone told you that six months ago that quick reply for Messages would be a feature in iOS 8, most people would probably say that it would be the headline feature for the updated OS. But Apple cranked it up a few notches, unveiling new features like Continuity and extensions, and suddenly quick reply no longer seemed like that big of a deal.

But let's face it, quick reply is still very much a big deal. In fact, it's such a wanted feature that there have been tons of jailbreak tweaks in the past that have brought some form of quick reply to the table for jailbroken users.

Aslock: add new functionality to the Spotlight search swipe gesture

Aslock is an interesting new jailbreak tweak that brings new functionality to the swipe-down gesture used to invoke Spotlight search. Along with being able to invoke Spotlight as you normally would, you can now access the App Switcher and lock your device using Spotlight swipe gestures.

It's the type of tweak that's a little difficult to explain in writing. With that in mind, we've created a video walkthrough so that you can see how the Aslock works in action.

Apple warns developers of incoming CloudKit data wipe, suggesting iOS 8 beta 3 might be around the corner

Apple just sent an email to its registered developers warning them that the company will be performing a server-side CloudKit data wipe for iOS 8 beta and OS X Yosemite Developer Preview, on Monday July 7.

If this data wipe is not unusual, it definitely comes at an interesting time, suggesting that not surprisingly, iOS 8 beta 3 and and the third OS X Yosemite Developer Preview might be right around the corner...

MTN: the first mountain simulator for iOS

I recently came across this very interesting “game” which allows players to experience what it is like to be a mountain. It’s called an “ambient procedural mountain game”, a “mountain simulator”, and a “relax ‘em up”. If you saw that description, wouldn’t you want to find out, what the f?

MTN is this strange, unique display of a mountainside that you create, based on your own drawings, and then watch for 50 hours as life goes on around it. We sat down with the app for as many hours as possible and have a review of MTN for you below...

The Magnus Mini iPad stand is a minimalist obsession

Ten One Design is mostly known for the Pogo Stylus, which comes in multiple designs. Bumping into the team at CES, I was able to get a glance at the Magnus Mini, their new iPad mini stand. It is one of the most simplistically designed iPad stands I have ever used. With just a small base and a minimal lip, iPad is held at a perfect angle to remain standing with as little effort as possible.

In comparison to other much more complicated docks or stands, the Magnus Mini is a welcomed change to the otherwise overly dramatic iPad dock arena...

Apple poaches TAG Heuer exec for iWatch marketing role

Apple has made another high-profile hire related to iWatch as CNBC reports that the company has successfully poached sales director of luxury Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer Patrick Pruniaux, who has now joined the iPhone maker's teams in California to help sell the iWatch and position the device as a must-have gadget in the minds of the consumers.

Several sources already suspected that the iWatch could actually be a high-end luxury watch augmented by smart functions. Also keep in mind that earlier reports said Apple had approached the world’s top watchsmiths in an attempt to poach their talent for its iWatch team.

That being said, this hire certainly makes sense because Apple is going to need experienced marketeers from the watch industry if it's to position the rumored device as a luxury good...

New concept imagines iPhone 6 without ugly antenna lines

I'm sure most of you are as tired of iPhone 6 concepts as I am—between rumors of a redesign and the constant barrage of part leaks, designers have had more to work with than years past—but these new mockups from Thomas Moyano and Nicolas Aichino are worth noting.

The images depict Apple's handset with all of the rumored hardware changes, including the thinner profile, rounded edges and relocated Power button. But there's one major difference between this design and all of the others we've seen thus far: no ugly antenna break lines...

IntelliScreenX beta with iOS 7.1.x support available

The release of the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 7.1.x last month was both a gift and a curse. It brought about a way for folks to jailbreak the latest iOS firmware, but it also broke a lot of popular packages in Cydia.
