Tweet from T-Mobile CEO suggests carrier will carry new iPads

While we feel like we have a pretty good idea of what to expect in regards to Apple’s new iPads it’s going to announce next week, there are a few things we still don’t know—like when and where the tablets will be available.

But we may have gained some insight on the latter question today. T-Mobile’s outspoken CEO John Legere tweeted out a link to an article on Apple’s upcoming keynote this afternoon, and indicated he’s excited for the event…

Here’s the tweet in question, first spotted by 9to5Mac:

It’s believed by the site, and many others, that the message suggests that the provider will be carrying the new iPads—or at least the cellular models—for the first time ever this year. Though obviously, that has yet to be confirmed.

Legere has said in a past interview that T-Mobile would be expanding its line of Apple product offerings, telling AllThingsD that he thinks that there is a” whole array of Apple products that we look forward to carrying.”

Since becoming an official iPhone partner in March of this year, T-Mobile has made a number of disruptive moves including the introduction of its new ‘Jump’ early upgrade program, and offering International 2G data for free.

It’ll be interesting to see if the carrier—which is the fourth largest in the US by subscriber base—gets a nod from Apple on stage next week. The media event is set to start at 10am PDT, and as usual we will be covering it live.
