Clear for iPhone and Mac updated with e-mail list sharing and more

Clear 1.1 for iOS (iPhone screenshot)

Realmac has updated its Clear app today for both the iPhone and the Mac today, bringing it to version 1.2.2 (or 1.0.1). The update brings about e-mail list sharing—which was a highly requested feature—as well as new themes and other improvements.

On the iPhone, the new list sharing feature can be activated simply by shaking the handset while Clear is open. Doing this brings up the email tool  that includes the active list, plus a link that lets the recipient open it within their own version of Clear…

Here’s your full change log for today’s iPhone release:

Clear 1.2.2: The “Email Your Lists” Update

• Shake-to-Email: just shake your phone to bring up the all-new-super-handy email option. Emails contain your lists (of course) as well as a file that whoever receives the email can open in Clear.
• We probably shouldn’t tell you this, but there’s a couple of secret new themes. Enjoy 🙂

And now for the Mac update:

Clear for Mac 1.0.1: The “Email Your Lists” Update

• Email Lists: check it out on the Actions menu. Emails contain your lists (of course) but also a file that whoever receives the email can open in Clear.
• Minor tweaks behind the scenes to how we handle problems with iCloud.

In a sea of thousands of other ToDo apps, even successful ones, Clear continues to stand out. Even though it may not be as feature-rich as some of the other offerings, users continue to eschew the frills in favor of Clear’s flat UI and gesture-based navigation.

Spending its first 6 months or so as an iPhone-exclusive, Clear launched on the Mac last fall to much praise. And if you’ve invested in those two apps, you’ll be happy to hear that Realmac says there will be news soon regarding a long-awaited iPad version.

Obviously, today’s updates are free for previous owners. Otherwise, you can grab both Clear for Mac and Clear for iPhone, from the App Store for $9.99 and $1.99 respectively.
