New in iOS 5.1: Go to this address

Ever since iOS 5.1 was released last week, we started looking for new features that would have been quietly added to the iPhone or iPad. Two major ones were quickly found, both related to the data settings of your iPhone.

The first one unofficially turns your AT&T iPhone 4S into a 4G device, and the second one brings back the 3G toggle in the settings of your iPhone, assuming you are not using AT&T.

And now, a subtle new feature has surfaced to...

HBO to finally allow Universal and Fox movies into iCloud

According to recent reports, Apple is secretly trying to put together its own TV subscription service. And by the sounds of things, it doesn't seem to be going very well. Studios are afraid to let Apple anywhere near their multi-million dollar industry.

But it appears that at least one major content provider is coming around. The Wall Street Journal has learned that HBO is finally going to relax its terms enough to allow iCloud users to stream previously purchased content to other iOS devices...

Shocker: next iPhone expected to launch later this year with LTE

BGR passes along a report from DigiTimes this morning which claims that Apple is planning to launch a new iPhone later this year equipped with LTE technology. You don't say?

Well, considering that Apple has released a new iPhone every year for the past 5 years, it's safe to assume that we'll see another one in 2012. And given the fact that the company's latest tablet contains LTE, it's not hard to fathom that its next handset will too...

‘FastCam’ lets you quickly access your iPhone’s camera interface

And you thought iOS 5.1's new Lock screen camera was fast? FastCam is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that allows you to access your iPhone's camera API using a simple Activator action.

The nice thing about FastCam is that it works anywhere, even at the Lock screen. In fact, it's faster than the Lock screen camera feature found on iOS 5, and still faster after the improvements made with iOS 5.1.

AT&T 4G LTE coming to 12 more cities

AT&T is still lagging behind Verizon when it comes to 4G LTE coverage – the real 4G – but it's coming to 12 more markets:

AT&T plans to roll out 4G LTE soon in Naples, Fla.; Bloomington, Lafayette and Muncie, Ind.; Baton Rouge and New Orleans, La.; St. Louis, Mo; Akron, Canton and Cleveland, Ohio; Bryan-College Station, Texas; and Staten Island in New York City.

These launches are scheduled for April, May and into the early summer.

‘Deck’ is now available on Cydia

Hint reveals the new iPad will be available at 8AM this Friday

Customers have already rushed to get their pre-orders in for the new iPad, as it's set to deliver and go on sale in-stores this Friday. Apple confirmed that the first wave of iPads are sold out and that demand for the new tablet is "off the charts".

Today, Apple has revealed it plans to open its new Houston retail store this Friday, at 8 AM. Apple typically opens its stores at 10 AM, but has made an exception this time around. More than likely, this reveals that Apple will begin selling the new iPad in its stores Friday at 8AM...

‘Springround’ now available on Cydia

Springround — the jailbreak tweak that allows you to access your SpringBoard icons from anywhere — is now live on Cydia.

We've already previewed this tweak, and we were pretty satisfied with the results. It's awesome to be able to load up your app icons while within another app, and as one viewer described it, it's like "reverse multitasking".

Analyst expects Apple to sell one million iPads on Friday

Apple's new iPad has already sold out online, after being available for pre-order since March 7th. The new tablet out of Cupertino delivers on Friday, March 16th and will also be available in-stores. With its great specs, Apple has already said demand for the new iPad is "off the charts".

People are getting so excited, that analyst Gene Munster says Apple will sell a wholesome one million iPads on Friday...

Popular game Draw Something already downloaded 20 million times

There always seems to be one game that really stands out on the App Store, like Angry Birds or Stick Wars. However, the game that's all the rage these days is five week old Draw Something. The game has seen phenomenal growth, and it seems like everyone is playing it these days.

The developers behind the app, OMGPop, have released the latest numbers for Draw Something. The game has already been downloaded 20 million times and is generating a whopping six-figures a day in revenue...

Department of Justice approves Apple’s acquisition of Nortel patents

The US Department of Justice has just approved the sale of Nortel patents to the group Rockstar Consortium, which is an alliance made up of Apple, Microsoft, Research In Motion, Ericsson and Sony. The acquisition is priced at roughly $4.5 billion and will give the group 4,000 patents, reports The Next Web.
