What’s New in iOS 5 Beta 6

As most of you know already, Apple released iOS 5 Beta 6 to developers earlier today. While we've been able to confirm that the new software is jailbreak-safe, we haven't been able to uncover any major, new features.

Much like its predecessor, Beta 6 seems to be full of minimal enhancements and last minute bug fixes as Apple prepares for an imminent public release. Regardless, the new firmware still has a huge change log. And you can read through it yourself after the break...

Update: iOS 5 Beta 6 is Not Jailbreak Safe

Apple seeded beta number 6 of iOS 5 to developers today. And while some folks are rushing out to download the new software, others are waiting for word on if and when it will be jailbroken.

With previous iOS 5 releases, we've had to wait for the jailbreak community to update tools like RedSn0w and Sn0wBreeze to be compatible with the new firmware...

Almost Confirmed: iPad 3 to Receive Retina Display in 2012

With iPad 3 stories currently fighting for attention with iPhone 5 claims and counterclaims, the latest information on Apple's next tablet comes from the always reliable Wall Street Journal.

The WSJ weighed in on the speculation with a claim that their sources believe Apple is now planning to bring the iPad 3 to market some time in 2012, and not the late 2011 window that had previously been banded around.

Interestingly, the Journal also added fuel to the fire with the news that the next iPad will sport a super-high resolution display, bringing the Retina Display to the company's tablet line...

AT&T VP Confirms iPhone 5 Launching in Early October
