‘iScreenSaver’ Reveals Your Wallpaper as Your Screen Dims

Dan Zimmerman’s latest entry into the TweakWeek daily challenge was uploaded yesterday. The jailbreak tweak is called iScreenSaver, and it puts a new spin on the old function.

Remember when custom screen savers on your desktop were cool? The effect never really made the transition to smart phones, as 3.5″ screens don’t typically need saving. But Zimmerman’s tweak isn’t your typical screen saver…

The tweak is designed to bring your wallpaper to the front of your screen as your iDevice is dimming and about to lock. This creates a screensaver-like effect for a few seconds before your screen goes completely black.

iScreenSaver aligns with other utilities born during TweakWeek. It’s free, extremely easy to use, and there’s no home screen icon or settings to customize.

I’ll be honest, I had some issues getting this to work, but you really can’t complain about a free tweak. If you want to check it out for yourself, iScreenSaver is available for free in Cydia.

Have you tried iScreenSaver yet? Thoughts?
