procam 2 2

Apple has just named Samer Azzam’s ‘‘ProCam 2” its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you’ll be able to download the popular photo and video editor for iPhone and iPad for free—a solid savings of $1.99.

The app offers features such as Night mode, Burst mode, anti-shake, and a self-timer. It also has face detection, intelligent HDR, dozens of photo filters to choose from, and a variety of other tools that make taking and editing great photos and videos a breeze.

Additionally, ProCam 2 has an iOS 8 extension that allows you to take advantage of its editing tools from with the stock Photos app. There is also an in-app purchase available ($4.99) that allows you to capture 4K Ultra HD video (only for iPhone 5s or later).

The app has a 4.5 star rating on over 1,500 reviews in the App Store, and is very well designed, so even if you don’t consider yourself a photographer, it’s worth grabbing for free. You can find the iPhone version of ProCam 2 here and the iPad version here.

    Check the last paragraph.
It should “the iPad version” for the last sentence.

This app, and its pre-iOS 7 version (procam 1) became free countless times, each time lasted for days. It didn’t have iAP a couple of updates ago. Most ‘app of the week’ picks unfortunately have iAPs. The one exception that comes to my mind was Notability, which is by far the best app of the week pick IMO.

I believe the only two IAPs here are a filter pack and 4K recording, the rest of the app’s hundreds of tools are included. Great deal for those who haven’t picked it up in the past.

Also, I would say Things was the best App of the Week. Apple gave away both iPhone and iPad versions, a $30 value.

I forgot ‘Things’. Probably because I never used it. But I agree, it was the priciest app of the week and it may be very useful to other people. But I use notability very often and combined with a cheap capacitive stylus, I went paper-less most of the time.

4K recording on my iPad Air 2! Woo! Takes up lots of space though unfortunately.
