Facebook on Thursday issued a small update to its Messenger app for the iPhone and iPad, bringing out additional features to touch up the photos you take within the software using the built-in camera feature.

Now available in the App Store at no cost, Facebook Messenger 16.0 fixed an issue with sending messages while introducing a pair of new controls to adjust the focus and lighting of photos you take in the app.

The much-welcomed photo-editing features are in addition to doodles and photo captions added last month.

Facebook Messenger 16.0 changelog

  • Now you can adjust the focus and lighting of photos you take in the app.
  • Fixed issues with sending messages.

The social networking behemoth recently launched a standalone Groups app, is kicking its drone business into high gear and rolled out a new Privacy Checkup tool to help users understand who can see their posts and other information they share on Facebook.

Moreover, the company is reportedly readying Facebook@Work, a brand new service to let business users collaborate on projects and connect with professional contacts through group chats and document collaboration with co-workers.

The 43.7-megabyte universal app requires an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 7.0 or later.

“Now you can adjust the focus and lighting of photos you take in the app”
I still dunno how to do it 🙁

    • When you tap to focus you should be able to slide your finger up or down to control the brightness. It should be a little different though.

Is anyone having problems with iOS8 photo albums missing with certain apps?! It’s mainly happening in Facebook Messenger and “Moldiv” photo editing app. Is there a tweak I can resolve this with from Cydia? I keep all my photos neatly in folders I sync from iTunes and this has completely changed that 🙁

      did you update to 8.1?
it was supposed to fix that.

Yeah I’m on 8.1 and I have an iPhone 5S. I have the camera roll but basically when I try to import a photo to “Moldiv” or send a photo on Facebook Messenger, it makes me look through 11k of my photos that I have on my phone instead of the individual albums that I have so It’s nice and tidy, and obviously easy to find a photo I’m looking for.

Does anyone know a tweak that allows chat heads to be opened and used outside the messenger app? like android does? Thanks
