creed pirates

Great news for gamers this morning. Ubisoft’s highly anticipated mobile game Assassin’s Creed: Pirates is now available in the App Store. The release comes 3 months after the studio announced the title, which is exclusive for smartphones and tablets.

In Pirates, you’ll play as Alonzo Batilla, a young and ambitious captain looking to take on the fiercest of enemies. You’ll build up your crew and ship, and engage in real-time naval battles across the Caribbean Sea illustrated in “groundbreaking 3D visuals.”

Assassin Creed Pirates (teaser 001)

From Ubisoft’s official blog:

You play as Alonzo Batilla and explore the Caribbean, upgrading your ship and engaging in real-time naval battles on your path to claiming a legendary treasure and becoming the most feared pirate of your time.

Upgrade your ship with better sails and weapons and recruit new crewmembers to acquire perks that will make you a better captain. Use cannons, mortar and swivel guns in battle to tear your enemies apart up close or from a distance, and rise through the ranks of the pirates of the era.”

And here’s the teaser trailer:

Keep in mind that this is an Assassin’s Creed title, so you can expect to cross paths with Templars and Assassins on your journey. And Ubisoft says you’ll also encounter characters from the studio’s latest major console release: Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.

If you’d like to check it out, you can find Assassin’s Creed: Pirates in the App Store, for both the iPhone and iPad, for $4.99. It looks like the game requires you to be running iOS 7 or later, and Ubisoft recommends that you have an iPhone 4s or higher.

    iOS 7 only

Are you one of those people who are still waiting for jb even though it may not come soon or not at all?

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

Correct. Although I don’t moan directly to developers / hackers like some people do

      • Rowan09

I love IOS 7 with the 5s because of the touch id quick access to unlocking my phone, but quick reply is very convenient. I also miss a couple other tweaks but IOS 7 does water down the need for a jailbreak.

      • blastingbigairs

Until you want to tether your iPad for free, or watch a movie on MovieBox, or download a song directly from Pandora.

      • Rowan09

I love movie box which I have on my jail broken iPad but there are many different alternatives now from the browser. You can also download music from certain apps as well, I love a jailbreak and as soon as it’s released I’m getting it. Bridge is one of my favorite jailbroken apps along with iFile.

      • Drake

what is this alternative for movie box

      • Rowan09

        http://bit ly/19jOWQo
While it’s not as good it’s definitely one of the many alternatives while we wait on a jailbreak. Whatever Moviebox doesn’t have a use this and some other websites.

      • Tom

Ah! That reminds me, when is jailbreak for iOS7 coming? 🙁

      • Nirvana

Ask the Evad3rs, however, we have no sign from the guys! Patient!

    • hkgsulphate

      i was a hardcore jailbreaker
from iPhone OS 1.1 to iOS 6.1.2, all jailbroken
but iOS 7 simply doesn’t need jb anymore
      Im very satisfied so far

        Quick reply.

      • Rot Kelfer

to be perfectly honest, this is the first time I even thought of QR, and only because you’ve mentioned it. I completely forgot about it. And I used to use it all the time.

      • bobby_turner

You aren’t able to mirror restrictions (Xfinity Go, etc.) without DisplayOut. The jailbreak actually serves non-cosmetic purposes for me. Enjoy your iOS7.

    • Bibek Ghimire

Isn’t there a Cydia tweak that allows you to use applications that require a higher iOS?

      • Yo

        First post

    • Yo

Just change tour version from 6.1.2 to 7
To install it.. Then change back

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I’m on 6.1.3 (no jailbreak) and the game probably wouldn’t start on < iOS 7 (I bet it would just crash or not do anything)…

      • blastingbigairs

Hey bro, why not just upgrade to IOS 7 at this point? I think a JB for 7. xx will come out before one for 6.1.3. Might as well right?

      • ✪ aidan harris ✪

The last status update was September the 23rd when Winocm said the jailbreak was almost done for 6.1.3 so assuming everything is on target it should not take long.

        Fingers crossed for ya.

  • Dor Pinhas

Does anyone knows if the iOS game is identical in its investment to the computer version of the game?

    • Daniel Eliasson

Do you think it is? I seriously doubt it.

      • Jason Masters

Buy it and let us know if it is then ill buy it I do like assassins creed !

    • Bob

No. This isn’t a port, current gen titles can’t be ported to iOS/Android as they’re too demanding. This is a watered down version made by a third party studio.

    • Dan

That’s a matter of opinion. You’re paying 5$ for this game compared to 60$ on PC. Obviously you’re not getting the same game.

  • Jo

    Assasin’s creed is crap.

  • H5ire

How to Pirate this Assassin’s Creed: Pirates app on iOS 7.?! 😉

  • Joseph R Watson

This game is addicting. Completing missions is fun, but there’s almost
just as much fun to be had just jumping from rooftop to rooftop, getting
    caught, fighting a few guards…
