BannerSwipe featured

BannerSwipe is an extremely simple jailbreak tweak that allows you to quickly dismiss banner notifications using a swipe gesture. The tweak includes a fluid banner dismiss animation to go along with its gesture.

While it’s true that you don’t necessarily need a tweak like this to quickly dismiss banner notifications with a swipe gesture, BannerSwipe’s main draw is the included dismissal animation. Want to see how the animation looks in action? Check our our video walkthrough…

Once installed, there are no options or settings to configure for BannerSwipe. Once you receive a notification banner, swipe from right to left on the banner to dismiss it. You may also swipe from left to right after you begin the right to left motion as shown in the video walkthrough above.

I like BannerSwipe. True, it’s extremely simple, but sometimes simple is best. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section down below.

When I had this installed, I couldn’t actually tap on the notification to open the app anymore. It just wouldn’t work until I uninstalled the tweak. It’s a shame, because I liked the animation.

This issue was fixed in the newest version of the tweak.

        Yup. Works perfectly now. Thanks.

Check out dietbulletin, I love it. Another banner tweak that allows them to be less intrusive or my favourite, a message ticker.

This kind of reminds me of Emblem but for the iPhone…

Unfortunately it doesn’t work with MountainCenter because MountainCenter opens up if one swipes on the message 🙁

In stock iOS you can pull down on the tweak and then release it to dismiss it quicker.

I know. I deactivated MountainCenter because of that. I don’t need it anyway. I just feel that the normal Notification Center is really ugly on the iPad, however getting rid of those notifications is more important to me. In addition MountainCenter always crashes when you open it while a notification hangs around.

Talk about redundant tweaks lately. A swipe gesture can already dismiss the notification bar, and we don’t need 2 status bars. Things are getting a bit ridiculous.

Useless tweak…In stock iOS you can just pull down on the notification and let it go, then it will be dismissed.

I like the dismiss animation from this tweak a lot more. A sideways swipe is smoother for me than a downwards pull.

Also without this tweak, a sideways swipe pulls the notification center down a little bit which doesn’t make sense with a sideways swipe.

  • Ricky

    You could always pull down

  • Strangely, I used to do this on my old iPhone running iOS 5.1.1 (don’t recall installing any tweak made for this), but when I got a 4S with iOS 6.1.2, this was no longer possible….
