Last Summer marked the world’s first ever jailbreak convention, MyGreatFest. Taking place in London, UK, the conference allowed hackers, developers, and fans to hang out and talk about one of their common passions — jailbreaking.

With appearances from the Chronic Dev Team, Saurik and other notable speakers, the first conference was a resounding success. And now under its new name, JailbreakCon, the team is looking to build on that success with a USA-based event…

The new JailbreakCon (short for Jailbreak Convention) website is now online, meaning that the 2012 WWJC (World Wide Jailbreak Convention) event is becoming more of a reality. And we couldn’t be more excited.

As of right now, the JailbreakCon team is looking to hold this year’s conference in California. But nothing has been finalized yet. When and where the event is held will ultimately depend on a number of factors, including sponsorship success.

To learn more about JailbreakCon, make sure to visit the official website. You can meet the team behind the conference, and will soon be able to pick up WWJC merchandise. Interested in last year’s event? Check out our MyGreatFest roundup.

  • I just talked to the JailbreakCon guys and here is what they told me:

“The site had a redundant WP installation on the root. Contained a malicious JavaScript file which caused the Trojan / Malware. I believe it is fixed. I couldn’t ever replicate the issue. But a scan was showing a malicious file. It’s scanning as clean now.”

  • i tweeted hours ago about the infected site no reply watch these guys very dodgy

    • It’s not dodgy at all. They sent out a tweet this morning saying the site was infected and that it had been fixed. Shit happens. They fixed it.

  • No trojan here with Trend Micro on one machine and Security Essentials on another.
