There’s certainly no shortage of jailbreak tweaks that allow you to customize your device’s slide to unlock bar. There’s Springtomize 2 and SliderEnhancer to name a few.

As you’ve probably already guessed, we have another one to add to the pile today. Like the aforementioned utilities, SlideToMod is a new tweak for iOS 5 that allows you to customize the text in your device’s slide to unlock bar…

Aside from text customization, SlideToMod also has a few other tricks up its sleeve. It can insert the time (to the second) or date into your slide to unlock bar, as well as hide several lockscreen elements including the new-to-iOS 5 camera button.

You can even hide the slide to unlock bar itself, but watch out. As the developer notes, if you don’t have an Activator function set to unlock your device before you disable the unlock bar, you could have a tough time getting back to your home screen.

All of these features can be accessed from within your Settings app. I was happy to see that everything you customize takes effect immediately, with no re-spring required. That’s always convenient.

The tweak works as advertised, and so far I’ve yet to notice any stability issues. And although there are a number of tweaks already available that essentially do the same thing, I have no problem recommending SlideToMod as an alternative.

SlideToMod is available on the ModMyi repo, in Cydia, for free.

Have you tried SlideToMod yet?

I just got rid of it outright with lockinfo 🙂

  • Huh, I think I will install that now just because of the ability to have the date in there. Does it play nice with Springtomize?

  • No point.. Springtomize 2 is enought for me.

  • In my opinion, ‘Slider Pro’ offers the same and even more slide features than ‘Slidetomod’. Test it out.

  • HELP ME! I have included Unlock Bar* without settings Activator and now can’t unlock my iphone.

    • Have you got SBSetttings installed? If you do swipe across the status bar then click the power icon and power into safemode and remove the tweak.

is there any reason why my slide bar won’t hide even though i’ve set an activator and enabled both the tweak and the hide option?

  • Anonymous

Yep, Springtomize 2 does all these things.

It doesn’t let you put the date in the slider bar but tbh who cares, i’ve never understood why any1 needs to see the date permanently on their screen, do some people out there really not know what day it is !!

Hey Jeff, how did u get idb icon in statusbar??

    • Photoshop baby !! I have my own custom made logo up there too.
First you need to install zeppelin from cydia, then Shsh your iphone with pc then copy any logo from zeppelin to pc. Use that logos as a sample and make your own. Save it as png. And again shsh and copy your custom logo on the zeppelin folder. Open zeppelin and you will see your own logo. That’s it.

      • Same thing you can do with coloredknob and make your own custom knob. But in this one you have to replace any one file that you don’t use. For e.g i don’t like pink knob so i replaced pink knob with my custom knob. *by replace i mean you must not change the file name of that pink knob.

But how can I Shsh my iPhone 4S ??

      • Install afc2add from cydia and use ifunbox in your computer.

    • Install afc2add from cydia and use ifunbox in your computer. Sorry i meant ssh not shsh….its so confusing sometimes. 🙂

I have iPhone 4s 5.0.1 after installed Slidetomod there’s no options to hide unlock. the options looks slightly differ from your video above. I used invisible unlock and background via winterboard, and would like to unlock using Activator via other methods. Although I’ve used Activator to double tap the clock to unlock, but the invisible slider is still working. Can you help me please? -reb
