Controlling a drone from miles away is nothing new, but it’s an expensive and it usually requires a lot of special equipment and technology. Working closely with the MIT, Boeing intends to change that.

In the video below, you can see a flying Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in Cambridge, MA being controlled by Boeing engineers in Seattle…

As you can see, the drone in this video appears to be nothing more than a Parrot AR, but that’s not what’s interesting here. I guess the most amazing part is that you can fly something that is thousands of miles away from your iPhone.

This technology is of course in its infancy, but it tells a lot about where this is all heading.

    this is nothing new. remote control over the internet has been around for ages. the only thing that might be new is the fact that there is an ios app to aid in it.
