Wallpapers of the Week

With the launch of WatchOS 2, Apple Watch gained the ability to include user-selected wallpapers on select watch faces. Either a photo album will rotate through wallpapers each time the watch lights up or a single photo may be chosen.

This customization gives you more possibilities and matching device wallpapers can create a nice effect. Thanks to @AR72014, this Wallpaper of the Week post includes optimized Apple Watch wallpapers from previous versions of iOS. Take a step past the fold to find your favorites, both new and old.

As we approach Fall, the colder months are creeping in. Summer's warm and sunny days are now lost and colorful leaves begin to fall. Unfortunately, this is a fairly localized natural phenomenon, but we can all enjoy the orange and red hues from our device screens. Step inside this week's Wallpapers of the Week post to grab images for both iPhone and iPad.

Another edition of the Wallpapers of the Week section comes to you this Sunday with city life. While having nature shots and blurry bokeh backgrounds are excellent, it is time to give the city some time in the spotlight. With tall illuminated buildings and articulately complex infrastructure, the city makes an intriguing image for your favorite devices.

With the iPhone 6s releasing on Friday, everyone is getting excited about the new features offered by the updated hardware. Naturally, one of the features I am most excited about is the option for dynamic wallpapers. The live wallpapers are a combination of iOS 9 and iPhone 6s hardware operability. If you downloaded iOS 9 this week, you will notice the motion wallpapers are missing from the list, due to their iPhone 6s exclusivity.

The Wallpapers of the Week section continues with geometric images. This category has been popular over the course of our wallpaper section and today bolsters the collection. Geometric wallpapers add a flash of color and texture to iPhone's Lock and Home screens. With iOS 7+ these images can drastically change the look of your device because the opacity changes drastically across the UI. In addition to grabbing some fresh new versions, inside is also a back catalogue of previous posts that include similarly tailored options.

Apple always posts excellent background images when highlighting their devices on their website. However, they do not always include their creations in iOS releases, leaving avid wallpaper fanatics lacking. It would be amazing if Apple included these images in a downloadable form.

A new Apple marketing series has them touting iPhone specific features. With a new line of "if it's not an iPhone" TV commercials, the Cupertino based company now has a dedicated website that features similar justifications. The "Why there's nothing quite like an iPhone website" highlights several features of their flagship device that cannot be replicated on other hardware. The page uses great graphics, three of which we have downloadable today for iPhone, iPad, and desktop.

Continuing the Wallpapers of the Week section, we turn to simplistic images. Often, patterns and textures make for great Home and Lock screen images because they can be colorful, but not distract from the UI elements, like the clock or app icons. Personally, I prefer this style wallpaper due to the simplistic nature of the images.
