What’s On My iPhone? – June 2011 Edition

It's almost the end of June, so it's no secret that I'm a little overdue with this month's What's On My iPhone? Video. Better late than never, right?

This month, as usual, it's all about my favorite jailbreak tweaks and apps.

Inside, you'll find a moderately thorough walkthrough of biteSMS, along with four other highly useful jailbreak tweaks that I use on my personal iPhone.

Interested in seeing which Cydia tweaks and apps have me hooked? Then check inside for the full disclosure...

iPhone Hot Shoe Holder Giveaway

At iDB we just love giving stuff away to our loyal readers, so we're happy to be giving away two Hot Shoe Holders for the iPhone 4.

You might remember when we reviewed the Hot Shoe Holder a while back, and it was met with a favorable response.

Now that our review is complete, it's time to give these bad boys away to some aspiring photographer out there.

Want 'em? Check out the details on how to win inside...

‘Orbit’ Exposé for iPhone Updated to Support iOS 4

It's been a long, long time... but change has finally come, and Orbit has been updated to support iOS 4.

Orbit, as you can probably recall, is the jailbreak app that allows you to initiate an iPhone Exposé mode using an Activator action.

It has been sitting in limbo for over a year waiting for iOS 4 support, and that support finally came a few weeks ago when 'Orbit for iOS 4' appeared out of nowhere on the Cydia store.

With its recent resurgence, we figured now would be as good of a time as ever to recap why this app is worth checking out...

Add Text to Your iPhone’s Lock Screen With ‘Custom Lock’

It looks like Tyler Nettleton saved one of his best jailbreak tweaks for last. His swan song, Custom Lock, allows iPhone jailbreakers to add their own custom message to their lock screen.

Custom Lock is the seventh and final entry for this round of TweakWeek and it allows you to use your iPhone's lock screen as a virtual billboard.

A quick venture into your iPhone's Settings app reveals a settings panel for Custom Lock that lets you add clock replacing text along with subtitle text.

Want to see what the results look like? Check inside for a brief video demo of Custom Lock in action...

Censor Your SMS Messages With ‘SMS Censor’

SMS Censor is a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to censor certain words when using your iPhone's default Messages app.

Its purpose is to prevent messages from being sent altogether if it detects a censored string residing in the body of your text message.

I'm not exactly sure who would want to use this, or how it would be used, but I'd imagine it would be a scenario where a parent is censoring or monitoring their child's text messaging habits.

Unfortunately, if the child is smart enough to jailbreak the device in the first place, they're definitely smart enough to find one of the many ways to work around a restriction such as this...

‘TrickSlide’ Eliminates Your Slide to Unlock Nub in Favor of a Cleaner Look

TrickSlide is yet another entry into the TweakWeek series of iPhone jailbreak tweaks. Although the name may sound cunning and cutting edge, at the end of the day, this is nothing more than a glorified WinterBoard theme, without actually having to use WinterBoard.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but this same functionality can, and has been easily accomplished in the past by use of clever WinterBoard theming.

All that TrickSlide aims to do is to hide your "Slide to Unlock" nub on your iPhone's lock screen; nothing more, nothing less...

Angry Birds “Summer Pignic” Teaser Trailer [Updated]

The folks at Rovio are back with yet another Angry Birds title. Angry Birds Seasons "Summer Pignic" is the latest installment of the famed franchise that's set to drop very soon.

As you eagerly anticipate more addictive gameplay from Angry Birds, you can watch this teaser trailer!

‘ASB’ Jailbreak Tweak Keeps the Battery on Your iPhone’s Lock Screen at All Times

ASB or Always Show Battery, is a jailbreak tweak that aims at targeting a specific demographic of jailbreakers.

You know who you are; you're the same ones who ask me how each and every tweak that we review impacts battery life.

It never fails; no matter how small or insignificant the tweak is, I always have at least one person ask me how it impacts the lifespan of their battery.

This post is dedicated to you, battery watchmen. ASB is a jailbreak tweak made specifically with you in mind...

Charge Your iPhone With Your T-Shirt… Seriously

So we've already shown you how to charge your iPhone over a campfire with a cooking pot, now let's look at something a little less flammable (maybe). The Orange Sound Charge is a t-shirt that actually doubles as an iPhone charger.

The folks over at TiPb discovered this interesting Orange prototype that combines innovative technology in a wearable accessory. The Sound Charge actually uses ambient noise to give your iPhone battery life. Hit the jump for a video of it in action...

‘6Switcher’ Tries to Cram Six App Icons into Your iPhone’s App Switcher

Tweaks like Five Icon Switcher have been out ever since Apple released iOS 4, but apparently there's still a demand, or at least a perceived demand for tweaks of this sort.

There are many other tweaks that allow you to do something similar, cramming more app icons into a space that was meant to be limited.

Although 6Switcher -- a tweak that stuffs six app icons into your multitasking bar, might add more function to your device -- what it takes away can't be justified in my opinion.

Honestly, I'd rather deal with a few extra swipes than ruin my iPhone's aesthetic appeal, wouldn't you?

iOS 5 Running On a 21-Inch Touchscreen

We've showed you tons of new features in iOS 5, but we've yet to show you what iOS 5 looks like on something slightly bigger than the iPad. Thanks to the iOS Simulator, you can now see what iOS 5 looks like on a 21-inch touchscreen display!

‘CameraLock’ Jailbreak Tweak Brings iOS 5 Style Camera Button to Your iPhone

It was only a matter of time before an iOS 5 inspired lock screen camera shortcut appeared for current gen iOS firmware, and that time is now.

CameraLock is a tweak by tweaking expert Filippo Bigarella, who unsurprisingly is behind the similar FlashLock tweak inspired by our very own Sebastien Page.

In the very same vein of the iOS 5 feature, CameraLock places a handy little camera shortcut on your lock screen for easy access.

But there are a few differences between this implementation, and the version that is featured in iOS 5, as I highlight in the following video walkthrough...
