Apple on Tuesday released iOS 11.2.5, watchOS 4.2.2, macOS 10.13.3 and tvOS 11.2.5 to the public, after more than a month of beta testing. Users can install the updates using each platform's respective over-the-air update mechanism, or you can visit our Downloads page.
Anyone paying attention to the state of the iOS 11 jailbreak as of late should already know about the LiberiOS semi-untethered jailbreak tool. Initially released back in December, LiberiOS utilizes the tfp0 exploit publicized by security researcher Ian Beer last year to pwn iOS 11.0-11.1.2 devices.
This weekend, LiberiOS received one of its first updates, bringing it up to version 11.0.3. Citing the tool's developer, Jonathan Levin (@Morpheus______), the new version squashes a few bugs found in the previous release, among other things.
DJI pushed a new update to their DJI Go iPhone app today, bringing with it support for the iPhone X. The update also brings minor firmware upgrades to the Spark, and the Phantom 4 Pro.
Ian Beer’s recently-publicized tfp0 exploit seems to be assisting eager jailbreak developers in their ongoing quest to create a working jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.1.2.
Twitter user cheesecakeufo shared the photo above on Twitter this week, showcasing what appears to be Cydia running on a jailbroken iPhone X with iOS 11.1.2 installed on it. While it looks promising at first glance, there’s purportedly still a truckload of work to be done.
As if the circumstances surrounding the current jailbreak situation weren’t dire enough already, Apple has stopped signing both 11.1.1, iOS 11.1.2, and tvOS 11.1.
The latest move by the Cupertino-headquartered company makes it impossible to downgrade to firmware versions vulnerable to Ian Beer’s recently-publicized tfp0 exploit until downgrading tools receive support for iOS 11. That said, hopefully everyone had adequate time to prepare their devices beforehand.
Apple followed up on today's release of iOS 11.2.1 with the tvOS 11.2.1 update for Apple TV.
Apple may have stopped developing its AirPort-branded wireless base station devices, but it certainly continues to support users with timely software updates. Just today, they released new firmwares for the AirPort Express, Extreme and Time Capsule base stations.
Apple on Monday launched the first beta of macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 to developers. The build number is 17D20a, and the update can be installed by registered developers using the Mac App Store's update mechanism.
Apple on Wednesday released macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 to the public, after a month of testing. This marks the second update for macOS High Sierra, and it can be installed via the Updates tab in the Mac App Store.
Among all the other changes that iOS 11 brought to HomeKit, it completely reworked the way Bluetooth accessories communicated. Elgato updated the firmware on a trio of their popular HomeKit accessories to take advantage of these new changes and they now operate nearly instantly.
Another major app has been updated to support the big beautiful display on the iPhone X. Google has updated the official Gmail app (as well as the Google Opinion Rewards app) to support the larger screen.
