Jailbreak Apps & Tweaks

These are the latest jailbreak apps and tweaks available for your iPhone or iPad. We save you time by highlighting only the best tweaks.

WAQuickReply brings quick reply to WhatsApp Messenger

If you're looking to have true native quick reply for WhatsApp on iOS, you may want to consider jailbreaking your iPhone. A new tweak from WhatsApp-centric developer iMokhles allows for quick reply from both the Lock screen and traditional banner notifications.

The cool thing about this tweak is that WhatsApp doesn't even have to be launched for quick reply to function. I force-closed the WhatsApp app, sent myself a test message, and still received the message with quick reply in tact. If you're a heavy WhatsApp user, then WAQuickReply ($2.99) is a compelling new package that you may want to consider.

TaiG 2.4.1 beta released to address 60% issues while jailbreaking iOS 8.4

Good news for those of you who are still experiencing issues with the TaiG jailbreak. A new beta version has been released to address issues with users who are getting stuck at 60% during the jailbreak process.

Users who are already jailbroken will likely see a TaiG Untether update soon on Cydia once the 2.4.1 beta period ends. Check out the rest of our post for the release notes related to the release.

SwipeSelection and SwipeSelection Pro receive official bug fix updates

A few days ago, we reported about an unofficial version of SwipeSelection that fixed a longstanding issue with using the tweak inside of Safari. After the attention brought about by that unofficial version, the original developer of SwipeSelection has pushed an update to both the standard and Pro versions of his landmark tweak.

Yes, both SwipeSelection and SwipeSelection Pro now play nice while in Safari, and fix a bug where swiping on the keyboard caused issues with auto correct. If you're running either version of SwipeSelection, you'll definitely appreciate this long-awaited update.

Cydia Installer updated to version 1.1.22 to squash bugs

Cydia Installer has been updated again to fix bugs. Actually, it was just updated twice—once to fix bugs, and again to fix a bug brought about by the previous bug fix.

Version 1.1.21 of Cydia installer appeared first, followed shortly by version 1.1.22. Needless to say, you should update to the latest version of Cydia at your earliest convenience. In this post, you'll find the full change logs for both updates.

The perfect jailbroken iPhone: iOS 8 edition

Now that the iOS 8.4 jailbreak is out, I thought I'd create a new "Perfect Jailbroken iPhone" post for you. If you can remember, I started this series a very long time ago, and it has remained popular until this day.

Lots of people want to know what makes a perfect jailbroken iPhone. Do you need the perfect jailbreak tweaks to make a perfect iPhone? Not necessarily.

And just because a tweak or app makes this list, doesn't means it's my absolute favorite, or that I even use it everyday. The perfect jailbroken iPhone does not equal my favorite jailbroken iPhone.

The name of the game here is practicality, usefulness, and improvement. With these tweaks + 1 theme for good measure, I put together an all star phone capable of doing very much.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree? Watch the video and judge for yourselves.

How to add a pull-to-refresh gesture to Cydia

Pull-to-refresh has become quite ubiquitous when it comes to iOS apps, and now Cydia can join in on the fun. The just released TweaksRefresher brings true pull-to-refresh functionality to Cydia.

TweaksRefresher requires Cydia 1.1.19 or higher, which famously made it so that Cydia Substrate tweaks could modify it. Once you install TweaksRefresher, a free release on the BigBoss repo, there are no options or settings to configure—just install it and go.

SafariSwiper: a new jailbreak tweak that lets you swipe between Safari tabs

Wouldn't it be nice if you could swipe between Safari tabs like Google Chrome on iOS? SafariSwiper is a new tweak that brings such functionality to reality.

Installable from Cydia's BigBoss repo free of charge, SafariSwiper is a legitimate option for those of you who wish to have a way to navigate between tabs in a faster manner. Watch our brief demo Vine video to see what I mean.

TaiG 2.3.1 officially released and no longer in beta

TaiG has elevated its latest jailbreak tool out of beta and are now promoting it as a public download. Version 2.3.1 of the TaiG tool's most notable change is its inclusion of the latest version of Cydia, version 1.1.20. Actually, this is apparently the only change contained within TaiG 2.3.1, as we noted in our overview of the 2.3.1 beta release a few days ago.

How to get Android-inspired cellular signal and Wi-Fi status bar icons

After my last few screenshots and videos, I've received numerous questions on Twitter, via email, and via the comments section about my status bar icons. More specifically, people are dying to know how I was able to get those cool-looking Android L-inspired cellular signal and Wi-Fi signal icons.

These icons are added to the status bar by means of a WinterBoard theme downloadable for free from Cydia. In this post, I'll show you how you can add them to your iPhone.

10 Cydia sources to try for the iOS 8.4 jailbreak

The default Cydia repos hold the majority of the awesome jailbreak apps and tweaks that we all know and love, but from time to time, you'll need to use a third-party source for certain Cydia packages. Some third-party repos, like Ryan Petrich's beta repo, are one of the first things I add after jailbreaking my iPhone. Other repos aren't nearly as necessary, but still nice to have available.

In this post, I'll share with you 10 different third-party Cydia sources that you can add to Cydia to gain access to additional apps, tweaks, and themes. I'll also showcase one tweak from each repo that makes it worth consideration.

How to get Apple Watch-styled Lock screen notifications on your iPhone

WatchNotifications is a brand new jailbreak tweak from developer Thomas Finch, that seeks to better unify the look of notifications on Apple Watch and iPhone. It does this by mimicking the look of Apple Watch notifications on your iPhone's Lock screen.

Available for $1.00 on Cydia's BigBoss repo, if you prefer the look of the notifications on your Apple Watch, then you'll most certainly be interested in WatchNotifications.
