Apple is “on pace to beat” last year’s ten million unit first-weekend record as the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are about to go on sale on September 25. Chances are that you have by now read all there is about the new iPhones and their major hardware improvements and new features.

Our non-scientific poll has indicated that most people have pre-ordered a 4.7-inch iPhone 6s with sixty-four gigabytes of storage, with Space Gray being the most popular finish. Today, we're asking you to take another poll and tell us what specific feature of the new iPhones you happen to be looking forward the most.

Apple: iPhone 6s on pace to beat last year’s 10 million pre-order record

Apple this morning confirmed in a statement issued to CNBC that its iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are “on pace” to beat the ten million pre-order record established during last year's first-weekend sales of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The number flies in the face of many clueless analysts who said Apple wouldn’t be able to hit that number this time around because the iPhone has peaked.

Interestingly enough, Apple touted “exceptionally strong” pre-orders for the larger-screened and more expensive 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus, with the initial stock sold out globally.

The company did not announce opening weekend iPhone 6s sales at the time of this writing but we're expecting them to announce the new record via a press release shortly.

Apple estimated to make over $500 for every iPhone 6s sold

Apple apparently makes an estimated $500 for every iPhone 6s sold, according to an analysis by Bank of America Merrill Lynch cited by BusinessInsider.

The investment bank estimates that the components part of the iPhone 6s cost Apple $234, marking a very slight increase from an estimated $200-$247 in parts and labor to build the iPhone 6.

Merrill Lynch's numbers only account for estimated component costs and exclude spending on labor, research and development, software licenses, product assembly, shipping, marketing and other affiliated costs.

Apple reportedly commissions TSMC to exclusively build in-house designed ‘A10’ chips for ‘iPhone 7’

The iPhone 6s featuring Apple's in-house designed 'A9’ microchip is yet to start shipping but the firm's already commissioned Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to build a next-generation 'A10’ package expected to power 2016 iOS devices like an 'iPhone 7,’ third-generation iPad Air and second-generation iPad Pro, according to supply chain chatter Monday.

The iPhone 6s is now available for pre-order

Following their unveilings on Wednesday, Apple has made both the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus available for online pre-order. As usual, folks initially had a hard time getting orders to through on Apple's website, and I had a terrible time with AT&T, but all portals should be working now.

EA silently pulls nearly two dozen classic iPhone and iPad games from App Store

Electronics Arts, the world's top developer and publisher of video games and one of the most prolific makers of mobile games for the iPhone and iPad, has quietly removed a bunch of classic iOS titles from both the App Store and Google's Play store.

As first reported by TouchArcade, hit games such as the original Real Racing, Need for Speed Shift, Flight Control, Mass Effect: Infiltrator and many more can no longer be purchased in the App Store, nor will they be supported going forward.

Apple posts ‘Hey Siri’ downloadable video to iTunes

If you want to relive new iPhone, iPad and Apple TV announcements and watch Apple's keynote presentation in the comfort of your home, on your own time and without streaming, now you can as the full event video has surfaced as a downloadable high-definition video podcast on iTunes.

“See Apple CEO Tim Cook and team introduce iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus, the all-new Apple TV with tvOS, iPad Pro, WatchOS 2 and iOS 9,” reads the description. The presentation runs two hours and twenty minutes long so block out about three hours of your time this weekend and enjoy it in its entirety.

Live Photos take twice as much storage space

One of the coolest little new features of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is Live Photos. That being said, those thinking about buying an entry-level iPhone model with just sixteen gigabytes of storage won't want to capture all their snaps as Live Photos.

And why is that? Because Live Photos take up about two times the space normal images, reports TechCrunch. And given the new iPhones' improved camera system has been bumped to twelve megapixels, the file size for normal images has already gone up by approximately fifty percent.

T-Mobile announces ‘Lifetime Coverage Guarantee,’ new iPhone 6s promo

Following Apple's major iPhone 6s event yesterday, T-Mobile on Thursday made some big announcements of its own. In both a YouTube monologue and press release, company CEO John Legere introduced a new 'Lifetime Coverage Guarantee' and iPhone 6s program.

As its name suggests, the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee essentially ensures your happiness with T-Mobile's network. The offer says that if at any point you aren't completely satisfied with the service on your iPhone 6s, you'll get a refund for up to a full month of service.

Paper by FiftyThree updated with iPhone support, new notes feature and more

Popular sketch app Paper, by FiftyThree, received an enormous update today, bringing the software to version 3.0. As expected, the new release brings about iPhone support, as well as several other new features like swipe-to-style notes and annotation tools.

Once seen as a casual sketch app, Paper now seems more like a catch-all brainstorming and note-taking app in version 3. It allows you to capture images, draw on them using the built-in tools, add custom text, and then share your creation in a variety of ways.
