Jailbreak tweaks of the week: EmojiSuggest, PasswordRecovery, & more…

There has been a slight resurgence in activity for the jailbreak community this week compared to last week, but things are still a lot slower than they usually are due to the lack of a refreshing jailbreak release for iOS 10.

Despite the lull, there have been some pretty interesting jailbreak tweak releases in Cydia this week, and we'll be recapping on all of those on this roundup.

EmojiSuggest brings iOS 10-like emoji suggestions to the predictive keyboard

One of the cool new features of iOS 10 is the ability to input Emojis through the predictive row at the top of the keyboard that tries to guess what you're trying to say before you say it.

When you express certain words, iOS 10 will recommend Emojis to communicate the word instead, and a new free jailbreak tweak called EmojiSuggest brings this functionality to jailbroken iOS 9 devices as well.

PasswordRecovery stores passwords and recovers them when you forget them

It can be a pain to remember all your passwords, and that's why password manager apps like 1Password exist. But if you don't like the big price tag or the subscription models, then PasswordRecovery is a jailbreak tweak alternative you could check out instead.

This tweak comes with password remembrance and recovery options all in a single package so you'll never forget your passcode or have to reset a password for any of its supported apps ever again.

NCTextColor lets you add vibrancy to Notification Center

Notification Center always has white text by default, but with a new free jailbreak tweak called NCTextColor, you can mix things up a little bit with some of your own favorite colors and settings.

This tweak works great for anyone who themes their iPhone and wants Notification Center's colors to better compliment the theme they're using, but you don't have to be a theme user to love what you can do with this tweak.

Luca Todesco tweets photo of iPhone 7 jailbroken on iOS 10.1.1

At the end of last week, a demo video surfaced on Reddit revealing what appeared to be an iPhone 7 running iOS 10.1 that was jailbroken.

There was a lot of skepticism surrounding its legitimacy, but now the established iOS hacker Luca Todesco is sharing photographic evidence of his own iPhone 7 jailbroken on iOS 10.1.1 via Twitter.

Round the corners of the multitasking cards in the App Switcher with RoundedSwitchr

RoundedSwitchr is a new free jailbreak tweak that lets you add rounded corners to the multitasking cards in your iPhone or iPad's App Switcher.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings app where you can control the corner roundness radius. The default is 10.0, but our screenshot above is pretty close to the 30.0 mark. You can set this radius amount as low as 0.0 or as high as 100.0.

iOS 10.1 jailbreak on iPhone 7 demoed in video

There's really been a lack of news about an iOS 10 jailbreak recently, but despite any updates, we've been able to count on iOS hacker Luca Todesco to show off his personal jailbreaks running on iOS 10.

Now, another iOS hacker that goes by the handle @ijapija00 is demoing his jailbreak, only this time, the spotlight is on an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 10.1. He claims it works on iOS 10.1.1 as well.

PickPocket helps protect your valuable iPhone from thieves

I hate good for nothing thieves just like the next guy, but who says you have to be completely powerless against them when your precious iPhone goes missing?

A new jailbreak tweak called PickPocket aims to help keep thieves away from your iPhone and give you additional piece of mind that you'll be able to recover it if or when it gets stolen.

Get rid of the clunky stock volume HUD in iOS with SmartVolumeControl

The stock volume HUD has always been a pain point of iPhone and iPad users for years. As a result, it's not surprising that so many jailbreak tweak releases have come along in Cydia to bring a better solution for what seems like a major oversight by Apple.

A new jailbreak tweak called SmartVolumeControl is just another one of those releases, and it aims to be a solution that can be customized to your heart's content and also stays out of the way when you don't want it to be.
