iPhone 7 may launch with LG-made dual-lens camera because Sony is behind schedule

Remember the rumor, backed by a report from reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, that only a 5.5-inch model of an 'iPhone 7' would have a dual-lens camera while its 4.7-inch brethren would get stuck with a boring single-camera module?

Now we know where that came from: Apple's camera supplier Sony has fallen behind schedule, prompting the iPhone maker to add another dual-camera supplier to the mix: LG's Innotek division. That's the current word on the street, according to a Barron's report citing Nomura Securities analysts.

Job listings suggest Apple’s first retail store in Brooklyn could open for business this year

Following setbacks, Apple’s first retail store in Brooklyn, New York City's most populous borough, could open some time this year.

That's because the company's now started a recruiting process for the Brooklyn area. The store should be located at 247 Bedford Avenue, at the corner of North 3rd Street, in Williamsburg.

A series of job post on Apple's website, first spotted by MacRumors, advertise positions for Creatives, Experts, Geniuses, Specialists, Business Leaders and management, with LinkedIn ads seeking a Retail Manager and Senior Manager specifically in Brooklyn.

Apple supplier says iPhone with glass casing coming in 2017

Apple is moving forward with plans to change its iPhone casing from metal to glass next year, says Catcher Technology CEO Allen Horng. Catcher is a Taiwanese metal casing maker and a key player in Apple's current iPhone supply chain.

Following the company's annual shareholder meeting on Thursday, Horng told reporters that Apple hopes the move will help differentiate its handsets. He also dispelled rumors that the change will cause Catcher to lose their iPhone business.

Apple reveals refreshed retail design in new Union Square store

Apple on Thursday introduced its new store on San Francisco's Union Square, revealing its latest vision for the future of its retail design. The new store's signature 42-foot tall sliding glass doors are set to open to customers on Saturday, May 21.

In addition to the large sliding doors, new retail store features include "The Forum," a vibrant gathering place, centered around a 6K Video Wall, and "The Plaza," an area open to the public 24 hours a day that offers public Wi-Fi and seating.
