The App Store has never been a very quiet place. 2010 was no exception; thousands upon thousands of new apps were submitted to the App Store. Most of them aren't worth mentioning, but there have been some exceptional apps that have risen to the forefront of what the App Store has had to offer throughout the year 2010.

We've covered a lot of App Store apps this year on iDB, with the goal of keeping our readers in the know.

It's that time of year. Christmas music, staff parties, plenty of egg nog, and gifts. As fellow iPhone users, what better gift is there to give each other than what we crave: more apps.

It's no secret that we here at iDB love Angry Birds. One of the most universally recognized games in the App Store, Angry Birds has made quite the name for itself with press and merchandise. You can already get your very own Angry Birds plush toy, and now you can have an Angry Birds iPhone case.

Angry Birds Plush Toys Now Available

Needless to say that we at iDB are big fans of Angry Birds, these cute and addictive birds that are putting their lives on the line to fight the evil green pigs. We had been waiting for those Angry Birds plush toys for a while, and they are now available for sale, at least while supplies last.

Looking at the website where you can buy them, I have to admit that I am slightly disappointed by their looks though. Maybe even more disappointing is the fact that they won't ship until January 2011. So much for surprising my fiancee with one of those for Christmas...

Angry Birds Sequel in the Works?

I rarely if ever write about iPhone apps updates but today I felt compelled to do it for 2 reasons. One, Angry Birds is freaking awesome. Two, this game is a good example of what every iPhone developer should do.

Unless you've been under a rock for the last few months, you most likely have heard of Angry Birds, a game where you have to throw birds at evil pigs. Sounds terrible, doesn't it? It is however as addictive as heroin, so play with care...

Last month we reported that Angry Birds creators wanted to push their success a bit further by turning the famous birds into a movie and toys. While the movie still seems like a stretch to me, I never doubted we'd see some Angry Birds toys hit the shelves. It seems it's now just a matter of time.

Some guy was walking the streets of NY when he saw a woman carrying a box of Angry Birds plush toys. He snapped a picture and asked her more about the toys. Apparently they will be in stores early 2011...
