This Fall could see the release of a new, high-spec iPad model aimed squarely at the professional market, if claims by This is my next are correct.

In a post on the placeholder site for the former Engadget crew, Joshua Topolsky explains that the team's sources claim this Fall will bring a new entry into the iPad family, with the new device receiving the 'iPad HD' designation.

But what's so interesting about this new entry into a fast-growing tablet market? Well, the clue is in the name...

We actually haven't seen too many "leaked photos" of Apple's next smartphone over the last few weeks. We've seen some really cool concepts of what the device might look like, but nothing claiming to be the actual device.

Today, 9to5Mac passes along this photo, of what appears to be the next iPhone, that has been circling the gadget blogs this morning. Though the photo doesn't offer much information regarding the design of the device, the mysterious gadget does seem to be running a version of iOS...

More Than 15 Billion Apps Downloaded From the App Store

Today Apple announced that the 425,000 apps that are currently in the App Store have generated over 15 billion downloads, turning the store into what is without a doubt the most successful software marketplace.

The press release reveals that those 15 billion apps were downloaded on over 200 million iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads. As part of their program, Apple has paid over $2.5 billion to developers worldwide...

Swype beta Ported to iOS, Lazy Finger iPhone Owners Rejoice!

This morning I stumbled upon a tweet from Josh Tucker of ModMyi indicating that Swype has been ported to iOS. I've confirmed it works on all iOS devices, including the iPad 2.

Needless to say, this exciting news piqued my interest immediately, and I just had to try it out for myself.

The purpose of Swype is to allow you to type without lifting your finger off the keyboard. Many claim that this makes the typing experience much better on a handheld device.

If you didn't know, Swype is available on pretty much every other platform sans iOS, and it's loved by its fans.

Note that you will of course need a jailbroken iPhone to try out Swype, and again it is in beta; so don't expect it to work perfectly.

Apple Plans to Fix JailbreakMe PDF Exploit in Next iOS Update

After a long wait, Comex released JailbreakMe 3.0. And now a huge number of iOS devices have already utilised the hack.

The jailbreaking method, which simply requires a user visit a website and press a button, is aimed at jaibreaking iOS devices running version 4.3.3, as well as being the first jailbreak available for Apple's iPad 2.

With experts warning that the same method Comex uses could also be used in a malicious context, it was only a matter of time until Apple looked to plug the PDF exploit that the jailbreak relies on....

Germany Issues Warning Concerning Comex’s iOS PDF Exploit

JailbreakMe 3.0 has garnered some serious attention over the last 48 hours. The last report we heard was that the site had been visited over a million times, and the PDF exploit had been downloaded over 500,000 times.

The exploit must have also grabbed the attention of Germany's Information Security team, because the group just issued a country-wide warning for all iOS products. The Mobile Safari vulnerability exposed by Comex in his new jailbreak tool has really made some folks nervous...

iPad Camera Connection Kit Not Working After JailbreakMe 3.0

Today, a lot of people on Twitter were reaching out to Comex because, after using JailbreakMe 3.0, their Camera Connection Kit for their iPad no longer worked. Comex addressed this issue by saying "Okay, there is a known issue with the Camera Connection Kit and JailbreakMe.".

A minute later he also said "...It makes me feel bad to ignore peoples' emails, but last night I was sort of flooded with them." About 5 hours later, Comex also tweeted that the reason it didn't work is because he broke "Invalid Checksum"...
