JailbreakMe was released just a few days ago and has already had fulgurant success. Twelve hours after its launch, 500,000 iDevices had already been jailbroken. Fastforward a few days later, and JailbreakMe has now been used over 2,000,000 times.

The news that came this morning via Chpwn's Twitter account reveals with a quick calculation that JailbreakMe is responsible for jailbreaking 1% of all iPhones, iPads and iPods in the world...

How an iPhone Can Bring a Tattoo to Life

Paris based tattoo artist K.A.R.L is probably going to make history with what appears to be the first animated tattoo brought to life with an iPhone. There is no real mystery behind it though.

K.A.R.L tattooed a QR code on his guinea-pig. The QR code was made to display an animation when activated with an QR code reader you can find in the App Store. Not groundbreaking by any means, but still pretty cool...

How to Enable Multi-Touch Gestures on Your iPad

My iPad 2 is currently running iOS 5 Beta 2, and one of my favorite features is without a doubt the multi-touch gestures. These allow you to perform basics tasks such as flicking through apps, closing apps, or making the multitasking tray appear - all with simple gestures.

We've already seen how to enable multi-touch gestures on the iPhone, but with the recent iPad 2 jailbreak, many people have been asking me how to enable those gestures on the iPad. Turns out that's it's still the same old process, but I thought it'd be nice to revive this post for those that are new to jailbreaking...

Comex to Fix Issue with Camera Connection Kit on iPads Jailbroken with JailbreakMe

Yesterday we told you about an issue that could be reproduced on iPads jailbroken with JailbreakMe when trying to use Apple's Camera Connection Kit. If you own an iPad jailbroken with JailbreakMe, you can't use the Camera Kit for the time being.

Comex has been aware of the issue, and today he announced on Twitter that he has a fix coming up this Friday. According to Comex, the fix will be available in Cydia as a new package to install...

Time Warner Cable App Flips the Finger at Jailbreakers, and How to Bypass This Restriction

The Warner Cable app for iPad just got an update, and if you're a jailbreaker, you might want to stay away from it. The app that lets you watch cable TV on your iPad - assuming you are in your home - is now showing an error message to anyone using the app with a jailbroken iPad.

It's actually kinda odd that such an app would have anti-jailbreak measures. My guess is that they want to prevent jailbreak developers from coming up with a way to use the TWC app from outside the house...

More Than 15 Billion Apps Downloaded From the App Store

Today Apple announced that the 425,000 apps that are currently in the App Store have generated over 15 billion downloads, turning the store into what is without a doubt the most successful software marketplace.

The press release reveals that those 15 billion apps were downloaded on over 200 million iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads. As part of their program, Apple has paid over $2.5 billion to developers worldwide...

If You Used JailbreakMe, Maybe You Should Consider Making a Donation to Comex

With over 500,000 iDevices jailbroken with JailbreakMe Saffron since last night, can you imagine if Comex made $1 for each of these devices? Yes, he'd probably be flying first class to some Caribbean island by now.

But let's be realistic, not everyone would want to pay for a jailbreak, even if it was as low as one dollar. Truth is, most people probably don't even know they can donate to Comex, which is why we thought it was our duty to let everyone know that they can...

500,000 iDevices Have Already Been Jailbroken with JailbreakMe

Talk about a hit! iOS jailbreak developer Chpwn just tweeted that JailbreakMe, which was released about 10 hours ago, has already been used to jailbreak 500,000 devices, including iPhones, iPads, and iPods. Also according to Chpwn, the website www.JailbreakMe.com has seen over 1,000,000 visitors in its short time online since Saffron was released.

I knew people had been waiting for JailbreakMe 3.0 to be released for a while, but the success of this jailbreak really shatters my expectations, and probably Comex's as well...

How to Jailbreak Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch with JailbreakMe

After weeks of anticipation, the long awaited JailbreakMe jailbreak by Comex is now out and available for everyone to use. As always, JailbreakMe is dead simple to use and doesn't even require a tutorial but we'll do it anyway for those that are new to jailbreaking and need to be reassured.

As noted before, JailbreakMe Saffron (its code name) will only be compatible with iOS 4.3 devices and newer, including the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPad 2, and iPod Touch. Support for older firmwares will come later.

In this guide, we will show you how to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch using JailbreakMe...

JailbreakMe Will “Be Back Soon” [Updated]

The tension is getting harder and harder for the release of JailbreakMe. After being leaked to everyone over the weekend, we found out that JailbreakMe was officially going to be released to the public today or tomorrow.

The JailbreakMe website just got updated again, this time to show a sign stating "We'll be back soon," similar to the message Apple shows when the Online Apple Store is being updated...

JailbreakMe.com is For Sale

If you go to GoDaddy.com right now and do a search for the JailbreakMe.com domain name, you will get a message telling you that this domain is up for sale in an auction opened to anyone to bid on.

It shows that the site has been appraised at $316 but the current auction price is $2,500. The auction, scheduled to end on July 16, will probably go much higher than that considering the value of this domain name.

But why is JailbreakMe.com for sale, and who is selling it?
