Siri gets it all wrong in latest iPhone 4S ad

If you've used Siri in the past, you know how reliable, or how unreliable it can be. For someone like me who speaks with a strong French accent, Siri gets it wrong more often than not, which led me to use Siri for very basic tasks instead of trying to push her limits.

If there is one time where Siri should be right on spot though, it's during commercials or ads. But there again, it seems like Siri, or rather Apple marketing department, isn't on top of its game.

In a recent ad placed on the back cover of the Economist, Siri was asked "what does poison oak look like" and she managed to return the wrong results...

Here is your chance to win an awesome skin for your iDevice

Up to a few months ago, you would have had to pay me to put a skin on my iPhone. I used to think that it looked tacky and cheap. There was no way I would ever want to put one of those stickers on my beloved iPhone or iPad. That's until I met the fine folks of iCarbons.

I quickly changed my mind when Rosa from iCarbons started connecting with me on Twitter. Because we are both JailbreakCon sponsors, we started talking more and more and she offered to send me a few free skins just so I can have a feel of what they look like and what they are.

The rest is history - read my review for full details. I got hooked immediately by the quality and look of their skins. I got hooked so badly that I currently have 2 iPhones, 2 iPads and my MacBook Air sporting iCarbons skins.

Because I want to make sure everyone of you gets a chance to enjoy an iCarbons skin, we've set up this awesome giveaway for you...

Cydia makes its way to the App Store, but it’s not what you think

The App Store hasn't had any shortage of knockoff apps since its creation a few years ago. When popular games such as Angry Birds or Cut the Rope make their way up the charts, you can expect a few unscrupulous developers to rush and try to get their copycat app approved and available in the App Store in order to make a quick buck.

Surfing on the popularity of Cydia, the App Store for jailbreak apps and tweaks, one shady developer thought that releasing an app called Cydia and making it available to over 300 million iDevices (no jailbreak required, mind you) would be a good idea...

Vavo: a universal stand and mount for iPhone [sponsored]

You know we're big fans of Kickstarter projects here at iDB. While some of them are kinda wacky and don't bring anything new to the table, others are quite innovative and make me go "I need one of these." That's exactly the case of Vavo, a universal mount and stand for iPhone and other devices that recently launched on Kickstarter.

The folks behind Vavo aren't stranger to Kickstarter or iDB. A couple months ago, they successfully launched Foco, a sound-enhancing device for the iPad, with a little help from iDB.

Today, we sit down with Adewale Adeluyi-Adelusi and Bojan Smiljanic from Unique Design Solutions and ask them more details about Vavo...
