Wallpapers of the week: colorful geometry

Geometric patterns are a recurring favorite in the Wallpapers of the Week collection. The beauty is typically found in the way colors mix and match themselves among the many image facets. This set certainly fits the bill when it comes to both intriguing imagery and color schemes. Created by @DanielKorpai, a self-taught designer, the full set is included below, along with links to some of our geometric archived wallpaper sets.

Solar eclipse wallpapers

In less than 24 hours, the United States, from coast to coast, will experience a total solar eclipse. The two axis cities are Salem, Oregon to Charleston, SC. Speaking of Charleston, check out these amazing dual screen wallpapers from last week's Wallpapers of the Week post.

Along the axis, about 70 miles on each side, viewers will be able to see totality, a complete covering of the Sun by the Moon and only the corona will be viewable around the moon's edges.

The last total U.S. solar eclipse was in 1979 and the next will be 2023; however, a full and total solar eclipse that stretches the entire U.S. is unprecedented. Check out our complete solar eclipse wallpaper collection, which you don't need special glasses to see.

Popular Apple-specific accessory maker Twelve South, paired with a Charleston, SC local photographer, Kim Graham, to capture the city's beauty. Why Charleston? Inside you will find downloadable versions of Graham's imagery for your devices. Each week, iDB focuses on bringing photo quality wallpapers to your Apple devices. This week is sure to impress.

My favorite iPad stand is getting an upgrade

On November 27, 2013, I gave a gushing review of the MiStand, where I claimed the stand was "my new go-to dock, with a small simple and highly functional design." Today, I am still confident in that claim, as the MiStand has not left my kitchen counter since that initial review almost four full years ago. I use it regularly to hold my iPad, while working in the kitchen, watching videos or FaceTiming family. Consequently, I was very excited to learn about MiStand+, which is currently raising funds via Indiegogo for an upgraded version.

The summer heat is in full swing, at least in the United States, where almost the entire country is engulfed in 90+ degree temperatures. That is 32+ celsius for our international readers. Our friend @AlexMuench is offering to cool things down, at least on your Home screen, with these watermelon and ice cream flavored wallpapers.

Live Photo Wallpapers for iPhone with Wally Papes

One of my favorite features of iOS is the ability to take Live Photos. It is shocking how drastically different a memory expresses itself over 3 seconds, as opposed to a single instance in time. I frequently find myself going back through a photo album, to play through each Live Photo.

Launching with the feature, came the ability to set Live Photos as wallpapers, both on the Lock and Home screens. However, there is really no great way to share Live Photos as posts on the internet. Dave Gorum comes to the rescue with Wally Papes, a curated collection of Live Photo wallpapers for your iPhone.

New iPad Pro wallpapers

This past Tuesday, everyone was able to get their hands on the new iPad Pro devices. These impressive new machines are even geekbenching as high as some MacBook Pros. Along with new hardware, typically comes at least one new wallpaper. Inside today's Wallpapers of the Week selection, we have the iOS 10.3.3 wallpapers from the beta as well as the iPad Pro images. Scroll to the bottom, for a full collection of images Apple allegedly used to showcase the new devices at the WWDC media event.
