Apple Watch Series 4 is a seriously praised smartwatch for a good reason, but last year’s Series 3 is no slouch and it comes with some pretty compelling features. You can get a baseline 38mm aluminum Series 3 with a sport band from Apple right now for as low as $279 versus $399 for a 40mm aluminum Series 4. The new Series 4 watch has been redesigned from top to bottom and offers even better features than the last year’s model, but is it worth the extra $120? iDownloadBlog’s video editor Harris Craycraft does the comparing for you, boys and girls, in his hands-on video walkthrough of Apple Watch Series 4 vs Series 3.
A whole new watch
Apple Watch Series 4, of course, brings a bit slimmer and flatter industrial design, but the thing you’ll notice immediately is a bigger edge-to-edge OLED display with rounder corners, resulting in increased pixel count and making those wonderfully curly complications possible.
Apple’s S4 chip is now 64-bit and noticeably faster than last year’s S3 in Series 3. Series 4 also brings clearer cellular phone calls with 2x louder speaker, repositioned microphone and better signal reception. As a bonus, you get that electrocardiogram on your wrist, the world’s first.

It’s worth pointing out that you could get Series 3 for even cheaper than $120 if you looked on eBay, Amazon, refurbished deals, used models and more.
