Following up on its mid-October update which brought you the ability to edit your Twitter profile in-app, developer Iconfactory today posted another Twitterrific update bringing a fresh new profile layout and a few other tweaks.
Twitterrific 5.5.3 includes some noticeable performance improvements: it feels really snappy and more responsive than it’s ever been – and it wasn’t like Twitterrific were a slouch to begin with.
There is also a brand new pull-to-refresh animation and you can now view profile banners by tapping on them. The full breakdown is right below the fold…
Here’s the new profile layout view.
I also love that I can now swipe upwards on a photo in the image viewer to dismiss it – because every second saved counts.
Check out the new pull-to-refresh anim.
In addition to these enhancements, Twitterrific 5.5.3 fixed the following bugs:
• Fixed a bug that prevented users from being displayed in people search
• Fixed a bug where the pull-to-refresh control would disappear
• Pinning the sidebar open on iPad doesn’t prevent VoiceOver timeline access
• Reauthorization not needed after refreshing in the background while locked
• Scrolling past DMs and mentions now properly marks them as read
• Deleted tweets no longer re-appear after refreshing
• Fixes for various crash on launch issues
The only thing i mildly dislike about Twitterrific’s new iOS 7 look is how the font color change is making the light theme less readable. Fortunately, you can always switch to a dark theme in settings so this is a non-issue.
Twitterrific 5 is available on the App Store for $2.99.
The universal binary weighs 8.8MB, is optimized for the iPhone 5/5s/5c’s taller display and supports any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iOS 7.0 or later.
Are you a Twitterrific guy or more of a Tweetbot person?
I’m a big fan of both, really.
