Find out how to set task alerts based on a date and time of a different time zone in the Apple Reminders app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
My editor-in-chief and I live on opposite sides of the world in different time zones. Our publishing and other schedules are based on the USA (PST) time zone, while I’m on Asian (IST) time.
If I have an important task I want to be reminded about based on Pacific Standard Time (PST), the iOS 26 and macOS 26 Reminders app lets me do that without having to check the World Clock or do mental mathematics calculating the right time based on the time difference/time zone.
Set reminder alert time based on a different time zone
1) Open the Reminders app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26.
2) Add a reminder and then tap the info button ⓘ next to the task name.
3) Turn on the Time switch (and it will automatically enable Date as well), and then tap the Time Zone field.
4) Search for the city on whose time you want to set the reminder, and select it. If your desired city doesn’t show up in suggestions, pick the one closest to it in the same time zone
5) Now, set the date and time of that selected time zone. Pay close attention to the date, because there may be a change of +1 or -1 in it; so, set it accordingly, and tap the checkmark icon to save your reminder.
You’ll see both your local time and the time of a different time zone for such reminders. At the scheduled time (based on your chosen time zone), your iPhone, iPad, or Mac will alert you to the reminder.
You can see in this screenshot that I had set the reminder time to 5:55 AM PST, and it alerted me at the correct time. My local time was 7:25 PM.
