Apple announced updates to all forthcoming operating systems at WWDC 2024. Within the new macOS 15 in beta, a glyph style, dynamic wallpaper features bit graphics from older systems. These colorful retro macOS 15 Apple glyph wallpapers capture the fun iconography and rotating colors of the screen saver in still images for your backgrounds.
macOS 15 glyph wallpapers
Below is a partial collection of these macOS 15 wallpapers from @basicappleguy. Although a source file was not located in the developer betas for the upcoming macOS, he was able to utilize screenshots to capture select versions of the screen saver in a stunning 6K size.
Consequently, these will work on any desktop monitor, including the Apple Studio Display. Given the resolution, setting these on an iPad or iPhone is also possible, simply choose which focal point when setting as wallpaper.
@basicappleguy mentions that, “this new dynamic wallpaper floats over Susan Kare’s iconic Macintosh iconography, Control Panel, and applications like the Calculator and MacWrite, Apple’s early word processor.”

The collection wouldn’t be possible without engaging with the community via X. Over the last 11 years, I tried to feature submissions by various digital artists. You can be featured by sending me submissions on X via @jim_gresham, where I curate the gallery. You do not need to be original artist to submit your favorite downloads; please give credit where able. Follow along for mid-week downloads, sneak peaks of upcoming posts, and general Apple gadget banter.
