PurePKG v1.2 released with local DEB support, optimizations, iOS 14 fixes, & more…

PurePKG is the newest package manager app available for managing jailbreak tweaks & add-ons and repositories on pwned handsets. Released just this past week, it’s already seen a few updates, with the latest being Saturday morning to version 1.2:

PurePKG v1.2 announced.

Citing the announcement, which was shared via X (formerly Twitter) by project lead developer lrdsnow, we can gather that PurePKG v1.2 includes the following changes:

– More iOS 14 fixes
– Improved/fixed basic UI mode
– Added local DEB support
– Redid the assets for a smaller file size
– Fixed signature checks again
– Added option to not refresh repositories on start

The latest PurePKG update appears to be more of an optimization update than anything else, as the developer appears to have worked on reducing file sizes and giving users the option to force or prevent repository refreshes at startup, both of which can impact loading speeds.

One of the changes that I’m most excited about is local DEB support, as it allows users to open DEB files on their device that they’ve downloaded from elsewhere and install them using PurePKG. As a jailbreak tweak tester, I often must do this.

Existing PurePKG users are strongly advised to update to the latest build at their earliest convenience to ensure the best user experience. New or prospective users can download the latest version from the repository or from the GitHub page, where PurePKG is fully open source for anyone interested in learning more about how it ticks.

Anyone not already using the repository can add it to their existing package manager app by using the URL below:
