Mymind, JUSTYell!, Card Buddy, and other apps to check out this weekend

It’s the weekend again people, and you know what that means: it’s time for another edition of our Apps of the Week roundup! This week we have some great picks for you including an AI-infused bookmark client, an anonymous social app for venting, and a card-based mind-mapper. And as always, we’ve selected a fun new game for you to check out!

Mymind – Extend your mind

Mymind kind of sounds like the name of a drug featured in a Netflix-exclusive movie, doesn’t it? Anyway, this app is essentially a bookmarking or read-it-later app that lets you quickly save things like text highlights, images, articles, products and other bookmarks to access at a later time. As you might have guessed, the twist here is that it uses AI to sort your saved items into categories so you don’t have to spend time manually doing it yourself. Only time will tell if it’s as helpful as it claims, but hey, the app does look cool. Extend your mind, man!

JUSTYell!

I often highlight apps in this roundup due to their usefulness, other times for their eye-grabbing design or features, and then sometimes I choose to include apps that are so unique or so out there that they make you say “WTF?” This one is the latter. It’s called Just Yell, and it’s a social platform for [what it promises is] anonymous venting as a way to relieve anger and stress to put you in a better mood. I guess it pairs you with other individuals, and you two take turns letting out your frustrations? But it keeps both your identities a secret? I don’t even know where to start here. I didn’t make it pass the required login screen, because well, that’s not so anonymous, and the crappy App Store explainer and creepy screenshots aren’t doing it any favors. Look, it’s an interesting(?) concept. Feel free to report back if you end up trying it out.

Card Buddy – Index Cards

We’ll wrap this week’s apps up with a far more conventional offering: Card Buddy. It’s an app for writers and content creators that helps you collect and organize your thoughts by putting them into index cards. You can get a pretty good idea from the screenshots how it works, and from there it’s not hard to imagine how this type of UI/UX would come in handy for things like script-writing, content creating, school/work research, and more. There’s certainly an argument that you can get most of this functionality with the stock Notes app and other mind-mapping apps, and I don’t love that they hide features here behind a Pro option, but I still think this app is a great option for the right user(s).

Warframe

For those unfamiliar with it, Warframe is a massively popular Sci-fi RPG/third-person shooter that has been around for more than a decade on PC, PS and Xbox, and now it’s made its way to iOS. In this game you will confront warring factions throughout a sprawling interplanetary system across massive open worlds. You can earn and unlock 50+ Warframes—bio-metal suits of destruction—work your way through 30+ story-based Quests, and even play co-op with your friends. There is far too much in this game to cover here, but if you are looking for a way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon, this seems like a great option.
